Small romanji translation

uhm.. it's romaji.. and that IS romaji... what exactly do you want the word in? kanji? hiragana? do you even want it translated to japanese or just "wolf" typed in katakana?

Hehe... Umm... I'm not exactly sure... *rubs back of head* I just want to know how to say "wolf" in Japanese. My friend was learning how to speak Japanese, and how to spell it with English characters. She said it was called, "romanji" So, sorry

ah, gotcha.. lots of people make the mistake of calling romaji romanji ^^

anyway, according to my dictionary wolf is Ooka

let's see if any of the more experienced jp speakers have any objections ^^

(also, this SHOULD have been in the "learning japanese" forum :X)

Eeep! Sorry! I didn't see it... Jeez, I think I need some coffee! Anyway thanks!

d'oh!.. the mi was at the start of the new row under the one that had the ooka on it O_o what an odd way to brake it off....

"blah blah blah -ooka
mi- blah blah blah"

(it's in katakana in my dictionary (every word is spelled out in either katakana or hiragana in it), so i wouldve written it as katakana in my little quoted example, but for some reason my Jp IME has gone ballistic on me, and I can't get all the options out...)

Ok, thanks you guys! Gotta go to bed.

Wait, is it Ookami as in, "Ooh! Pretty!" or Ookami as in, "Okay?" Just another quick(this time dumb) question! I'll have to check on the answer in the morning though! 😌

double o in japanese is just a long "oh" not like the english oo (like "cool")

Yeah, it's like the "oa" in "boat." Moved to Learning Japanese, by the way.
