Sentence translation - particle に

I am trying to translate the following sentence:
彼女は一度も振り返らずに走って行った。
My main difficulty comes from the understanding of meaning of the particle に in this particular context. Does is simply mean "and" here?
I am also not sure about the effect of the particle も on 一度, if it implies any change of its meaning.
I would appreciate if anyone could suggest a translation for this sentence.
