Maybe a combination of quirkiness, strive for uniqueness, and wanting to tell a story of some sort. Naming a song can be part of the creative process, too.

Incidentally, the longest song title on my playlist is Sufjan Steven's

I guess I chose the wrong word. I was just referring to the fact that it can potentially be used to contribute to part of the overall creative process. Nothing silly or unusual about that.
