On PS2 and Xbox? It's not that I don't like the old-school arcade/Neo Geo look, but one can't deny that current consoles are capable of more than that...

Also, SNK/Playmore is still releasing games for the home cart system from 14 years ago(you know the one, $800 for the system, $350 for games), which obviously doesn't have the same processing power as today's systems. When an SNK game makes it on to another console, it's usually directly port from the Home Cart.
i've not looked at the site yet but i know the game. 
I love 2d fighters more than 3d ones. like was said above you really can get great artwork and animation in them. I really hope that developers like capcom and snk(playmore) carry on making them.
Gonna check out the site now.. ..

[edit] just looked at the site! looks awesome! the screenshot do look like they are taken straight from the AES version. I hope the add some nice little things like proper graduated shadowing / transparancies. That would be nice rather than a straight artwork rip. oooh im excited about this game!!

You're all going to hate me, but when i was in japan last october, i probably dropped about $10 into playing this game. I'll tell you right now, it's amazing.
Each character behaves completely differently. They have different fighting styles, different weapons, and even moves that are kind similar (your standard projectile, for example) each have their quirks.
Plus, there are so many characters, you're bound to find one you love.
and obviously, the are is amazing/animation.
There is a story, too, but my kanji reading skills aren't great, so i don't know what it is.

I don't know about that man, I don't think that any of the bounce was taken out of the KoF 2-pack, but one could never say. Honestly, I think that the blood would stay because of the amount of freely violent games (gotta love them!) available today.
