:-) Hi all, I'm French so my english might ba bad (and my japanese is worst :p ).
Well, I think I tell what is not already on my profile or my personal page : why I'm so fond of Japan.
It happened with scales, since my childhood (we can say since I'm born) I'm a big fan of China which introced me to asian movies, calligraphy, history and martial arts. when I learned my father teached karate when he was in his twenties I started to take a deeper interest, plus I was always watching anime shows on tv.
Then I discovered manga and Tokyo. I am a "city-native", I'm in my element in big towns^^.
Finally, while surfing to a chinese music website, I listened to some Jrock and I was totally convinced. Starting this day, I watched, listened and read what I could concerning Japan, especially modern culture.

Now, I'm often surfing on host clubs websites, discovering a lot of bands, trying to watch classics (Ozu, Kurosawa...) and being passionate with BL manga.

Plans :
**** to go in a few years (I started sparing but I'll travel to other countries before so it's quite hard 😌 )
**** trying more japanese food as typical ramen (I'm a vegetable-hater so it's quite restricted)
**** to do a lot of things here in France related directly to Japan as concerts or festivals...
**** to continue to expand my japanese relations :)

Dreams (more realistic to the less) :
To become a cultural journalist
To work for japanese rock bands in France
To create a magazine dedicated to japanese feminine subculture
Doing that without learning the language before 👍 ...

That's all I think, thanks for reading. ;)

Hello there and welcome to the JREF forum!! Nice lengthy introduction!! 👍

I read an article a few weeks back about how popular manga is in France, pretty impressive I must say. We don't have a lot of Manga here in Holland I'm afraid. (I think the Dutch are too simple for that haha.)

Enjoy!! See you around!! Au revoir!!

Thanks ^^

Really ? I flt the difference when I went to London and I searched desperatly for the manga section in the Picadilly Virgin which was in fact only two little bookcases...

Here we're always complaining because there's not enough manga, not enough fastly translated, not enough variety and among all that : not enough cheap !

The sun rising on up over these hills, leaves darting past my window in the cool autum breeze, makes me want to dream about the days of summer past. Dreaming is important !! Also, this is a good time to welcome you to the forum.

WELCOME !! Tarva !! I'm sure you'll be able to learn a lot before coming here, and enjoy all the chit-chat about Japan here too. Please stick around and enjoy the forum with us all. Your English is fine!! I wish you success in your plans for the future. See you 'round !! 🙂
