Omiya Ardija (大宮アルディージャ), the recent J3 League champions, are set to undergo a significant transformation following their acquisition by Red Bull GmbH. The Austrian energy drink company has ambitious plans for the Saitama-based club. As the first foreign entity to fully own a J-League club since the 2020 rule change, Red Bull aims to elevate Omiya Ardija rapidly. Mario Gomez, the club's technical director, has explicitly stated their intention to quickly move beyond the J2 league. The rebranded club, RB Omiya Ardija, is poised for significant growth and development under Red Bull's ownership.

I preferred the squirrel logo. I think it would be a shame for Japanese football, with all its weird and wonderful names - Vegalta Sendai, Vissel Kobe and the unfortunately named Sagan Tosu - to follow baseball's corporatisation, resulting in names like Nippon Ham, Yomiuri and SoftBank.
