Look underneath the person's flag and click the icon that looks like a set of scales (second from the left).

Also, you may notice when someone gives you reputation it might be gray or green. Members who have been around longer so to speak who credit you will earn you green whereas newer members will earn you gray. Green counts as more, gray as less. I forget the actual dynamic but it's something along those lines.
