before i go to Tokyo, i was wondering what is everyones opinion on the local law enforcements, do they really help in upholding law and order.
or are they slow and arriving late after the crime.

Well, basically if they arrive after the crime, they are too late. Law exist to prevent crimes, not to look for the criminals afterwards.

Then what does law enforcement has to do with a "political question" ?

If you are going to Tokyo, home of everyone's favorite right wing nutball governor Shintaro Ishihara, you might want to watch your back around the fuzz. He seems convinced that every single crime commited in Japan is carried out by foreigners and has instructed his police to act accordingly.

Actually, thats kind of blowing things out of proportion, you probably don't need to worry.

The only crime I've ever seen in tokyo was that of fashion and taste, unfortunatly there's little the police can do about it.

lot of the jpop is a crime, too.....some of it is good, but....some of it...
engrish is a funny version of crime against a language.....
