Please read the text on this scroll depicting, according to the given description, a monk enjoying go.

The painter was given as:
Shūnin Kagao (加賀尾秀忍)( January 5 , 1901 - May 14, 1977 ) who was a Shingon sect priest
An interesting person.

However I do not recognize his name in the picture.
Partial results are welcome too.

Not having any luck with the poem/writing, but the seal is 無塵 (Mujin?). Must be the art name of someone, but I don't think its the art name of Kagao. Well, I should say nothing pops up immediately in a search.

I think its a maxim (not a poem).
The first line is probably 死中に活求 ? (How to survive in the face of death), and then the next word is laugh loudly (大笑).

My guess is that the following words are also similar words to suggest how to live a fulfilling life, but I can't get most of them. (So I could be wrong about the whole thing, but anyway this is what my current thinking is). And that may also support the theme of gentleman enjoying a game of Go.

This was before "LOL" was invented.

The seal is explained in the Encyclopedia of Japanese Buddhist Sects:
click - 日本人名情報索引(人文分野)データベース
人物名: 加賀尾秀忍
別名: 無塵,僧忍
Indeed Shūnin Kagao, given above as the painter, used the alias of Mujin.

In connection this scroll on yahoo, painted as I understand it by his brother(?), starts with 無塵 「無塵染清居」

According to the wikipedia Kagao tried as a monk to reverse the death sentences of war criminals.
I thought the monk was here playing one of them, but omitted it because of his laughter.
Now it looks like that was what it was meant to be...

Go of course being a game of life and death.
