no idea where she was yesterday, but cos of time differences and work, she won't be on till much later... so... yeah YSI's probably your best bet...

'Scuse me, but.....

If you had WinRAR set to delete the original files after creating an archive, I can certainly understand why they disappeared. But since the program only deletes things after they've been archived and since the .rar archives presumably still existed on your computer, couldn't you just extract them again yourself?

No I was just selcting the ones I wanted to compress and removing the ones I didn't. I didn't realize it would remove them from the hardrive. Nothing had been compressed yet.

In the future it may be wise to select the files by ctrl+click and then using the right-click menu to create an archive.

You might also wish to set the compression option to "store" (zero attempt at compression, fastest action) since you can't really effectively compress most video or mp3 files anyway.
