Now I need to start one of these....

I lost everything... **** I think I'm gonna die.

I lost all my PVs, music, lives, commercials, interviews, pictures, EVERYTHING... two years worth of jrock collection. My heart is so heavy... Some stuff I had to back up discs but not anything video format or my Diru, 12012, D'espairsRay, Rentrer en Soi or Kagrra songs.

OMG I'm gonna cry... if anyone can please help me I would be so appreciative.

I'll try to make a list of everything I need... it will be a lot but anything you can help with I will forever be in your debt. I can't stop shaking... this can't have happened... what a end to the crappiest week ever.

What exactly happened. You know there are places you can send a hard drive for all your info to be recovered. I don't have the name, but my friend sent his hard drive, destroyed in a fire and they got everything off it for him.
I would check around to see if someone somewhere can help you before giving up on a good collection of stuff. Best wishes !!

I was trying to compress live concert video with winrar so I could send it to someone and all of a sudden stuff started disappearing from My Documents... I don't know what happened. Then it crashed.

I was able to recover my pictures and some video stuff I hadn't gotten around to sorting into folders. It was in the recycle bin. The big folders that had all my music and videos weren't in there though

I was going to make a list of what I needed but it's much simpler to just make one of what's left

I have some songs on cds, but it's mostly the stuff I rarely listen to and I kept the stuff I do on my computer

All my Diru PVs (I have all my Diru songs and La:Sadie's on the other computer as well thankfully)... it took me so long to get them all no I have none. I have to start all over. It's too cruel.

It Would Seem......

you would want to find out what went wrong before you do anything else. You could end up loseing everything you have if you don't figure out what went wrong. Stuff on a hard drive is still there, it doesn't just disappear. BUT, if you record new info over old, you lose the old for good. I still say you should consult an expert before you try to correct the problem. What good will it do to replace stuff right away if you will lose it all again in a few days.

Frank's advice is golden. I would add that since stuff starting disappearing for no apparent reason, you might wish to conduct a thorough anti-virus scan.

I think I understand what happened. While trying to select the files I wanted to compress it asked if I wanted the other ones removed. I guess it meant removed from the hard drive too cause that's when they started disappearing. I got back some stuff by restoring them from the recycle bin. The big folders I assume just got deleted without going to the recycle bin cause they were too big for it. :? I don't think there is anything wrong with the computer. I scanned it for viruses and it had none. I'm pretty sure that's what happened.

If you could send the Kagrra, and Miyavi. Fortunately I had back up discs for Gazette and Dir en Grey on my other computer. Most of my L'arc and Gackt are on the other computer and I have the actually Malice Mizer albums so thank you. Sadly no back ups for PVs though. I was hoping to get a VCD burning program sometime in the near future so I figured just burn them when I got it. I suppose I won't be needing it anymore.

Well The stuff I didn't have on backup and want back most is all my MUCC, 12012, and D'espairsRay.

Pvs... I want my Dir en Grey most... They are all gone. I got Raison D'etre back though. Most of my Gazette is gone.

I keep listening to MUCC - Isho on repeat cause it's like the only song left on my computer

UNfortunately (for you) it's mostly (almost ONLY) Miyavi-sama, though.. and... I know he's not exactly your favourite. But what the heck, now when you have to start anew, let's add Miyavi in there!

I'm sorry for you. Hope you're not tooooo sad. It'll be OK; people will surely help you out in no time. We're all sort of collectors, aren't we? So people will surely give you tons of stuff!
