Exactly! I just wanted to say that おねがいします can be said only this sentence as one sentence. One only sentence to express PLEASE.
while ...てください, is always with other main verb. In this case you are requesting or offering (depends on verbs) this main verb, but ください in this case is an auxiliar use to say more politely

Here in this case, お許ください is an expression...Please forgive me....Here we don't say with TE. It means, it's not correct to say おゆる
してください。But it it correct to say ゆるしてください. The difference is that it sounds more polite to say おゆるしください。
Then after this, if I add おねがいします。It is like,,,I beg you
