playing football (soccer) in tokyo

hi,

i was just wondering whether any of the posters here play football in tokyo?
my reasons for asking are that i will shortly be arriving in tokyo and want to join a football team as this is one of my greatest passions in life..

if no-one plays, could you point me in the right direction as to how to go about joining a team??

I don't think you'll have much trouble finding a team

After Baseball Soccer is the second most popular team sport in Japan and I have heard of a few gaijin teams etc.

ok so i won't have a problem. that sounds promising. what would be the best way of getting involved with a team?? you say you've heard of some teams. are they associated with pubs?
i was hoping that someone on this forum might play for a team who need a dynamic, tricky left winger / central midfielder.

Going to a sports pub would be a good start, your bound to find plenty of soccer mad foreigners in anyone of them

If soccer is so popular in Japan, how come no girls seem to play it. My school only has a boys soccer club, so I had to join volleyball. I've been searching for a soccer ball to use to play in the park, but I can't even find a sports store in the town I am in.

Anyway, I wish you luck in finding a team to play on.

Hi zorro and all others looking for an opportunity to play football in Tokyo:
Be welcome to have a look at FC International.
Our team is always looking for new players to strengthen our squad.
We are playing a regular league competitions as well as several friendly tournaments during the year.
Also we have futsal sessions twice a week on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
The team is of half Japanese and half foreign nationalities.
As most of our players have been playing since they started running the level of football is rather good I would say.
