Thank you Half & half I knew I forgot a dang letter at the end and Hun ( hon ) should be book like you've said.I've never heard of "Shinbu" but paper is 紙(kami) book is 本(hon) and magazine is 雑誌(zasshi). I think you are mistaking "Shinbu" for 新聞(shinbun) which is the word for newspaper.

By the way I can see the word for water but I can't remember if its like hunchit( not the bad word spelling but the japanese word spelling )
And I'm slowly comprhending the first 3 kanji letters that tell you if it's a boy/girl man/child/ woman/child food/bookstore shopping so on. It's still going to take me a very long time before I can even go to sharetalk and talk with you guys and gals.
I propabably have the word spelled wrong as I did with the news paper, but it means water for tea.I'm not sure what you mean by "hunchit" but the kanji/word for water is 水/mizu. We don't talk in Japanese on Paltalk because most of us, including myself, cannot speak Japanese. Good luck with your studies!
If you saw Japanese Iron Chef ( not Iron chef America ) you would understand what I mean.Just out of curiosity, may I ask you what "Ambassittor" is?

Some that's not from japan becoming a part of the culture, people, and understanding the where the people came from and so on...
Let me see if I can find the correct term.Um, what I do not understand is the word Ambassittor, I cannot find it in dictionaries.
Thank you Mike, And exstream is a term that means over done to the max, and max means maximum limit it could go to.I don't understand the word "extream".
(Seriously, though, either work on your English spelling a bit or use some sort of spell checker. Sometimes people who are not native speakers can't tell whether something is unknown vocabulary, slang, or just plain old-fashioned poor spelling).
I do wish you luck with your goal of learning to speak and comprehend Japanese well enough in six months to be able to make such phone calls. I don't know if Rosetta Stone is the best choice for that, though. Don't they market that under the pretext that you just naturally absorb it like a baby learns its native language and give the impression that no effort is involved? The radio commercials I have heard from them are like that. Yet it seems to me a common point in the questions I have seen on the internet from people using Rosetta Stone to learn Japanese is that they are often baffled and unable to figure out just what a given lesson is driving at. The users I have seen have all certainly seemed to be stumbling around in the dark, so to speak. I suppose somewhere in the world there must be somebody who has become proficient at Japanese through use of Rosetta Stone, but I have yet to encounter anyone.
Let me see if I can find the correct term.
ambassador
Highest-ranking diplomatic representative of one government to another or to an ... snip ...spokespeople for their foreign offices
But nothing to this extream though.
What do you suggest after I've learned everything on the rosetta stone cd's? I would like to go to a place on the web where everyone speaks japense & english on a daily basis, and to be able learn more.Thank you. I know what ambassodor is, but have never heard of "ambasittor" so I thought it one of the new words which are not enlisted in dictionaries yet.
Now I understood it's just a mis-spelling.
I also wish you good luck with your goal.
I've read somewhere that Rosetta Stone is good for listening comprehension but you need other learning materials for the basic vocabulary and grammar.
Many people recommend GENKI as one of the best books to learn Japanese, and there are many website that offer basic grammars.
Just a thought.
