D3jake, yes, I miss our chat sessions. How are things in the Minnesota, where you can expect to live several years over the national average according to a recent study?
Be careful what you say! They have eyes everywhere!I am very leary about posting here at all. It seems that people with particular perspective get drive off. The effect has been more than subtle- with less depth and sophistication in the topics and more and more of the superficial and light stuff taking precidence. I'm not certain if the welcome mat is out or not and pretty certain that nastiness and mischief under the cloak of authority lurks just around the next post. Sometimes I find it difficult to not just write what I am thinking rather than couch it to make people happy.
I agree.I am very leary about posting here at all. It seems that people with particular perspective get drive off. The effect has been more than subtle- with less depth and sophistication in the topics and more and more of the superficial and light stuff taking precidence.
There are a huge variety of serious Japan-related topics with discussions that are still open but have been abandoned for want of good posters. With common sense judgement and staying away from anyone you have trouble with -- in other words be heedful of the context and environment -- there really shouldn't be any particular fear of controversy.I agree.
I saw the Strib online, and it said the current temperature was 43 degrees F. Wow, it really is cooling down over there! Gotta love Minnesota!
Wow, I'm pretty late to the party. I rarely get outside of the Learning Japanese subforum. (Ahem.) But still, congratulations. I hope that your recent hiatus will be brief. In fact, it seems that it might have ended today! Well, at least I made it in time for that. ^_^Hard to believe it, but I've been here now for a year as of today.
