One Year and Counting

And lo and behold !!! There be my good posting friend Revenant chan!! (I still recall that exchange back in August of last year, as though it were yesterday; do you?)

I do hope all will go well from now on, and that all folks will be sensible with their sensibilites and or lack of ! (GENERAL AUDIENCE NOTE: this means a lesser degree of sensibility or, in an exaggerated hyperbole emotion, without sensibility)

I look forward to hearing your voice here, from time to time !!

Thanks everyone, and welcome back, Revenant! It's good to see you back!

D3jake, yes, I miss our chat sessions. How are things in the Minnesota, where you can expect to live several years over the national average according to a recent study?

I just got home from work, and I have to be back by 7a.m. tomorrow morning. But I don't mind in the least. Tomorrow is my favorite day of the year in terms of work: it's Sports Day. I can't wait!

Haven't forgotten the 'Missionaries in Japan' thread Mars Man!

And thanks for the welcome back Mikawa.

They're doing fine, getting abit colder though, though nothing too bad I'm not sure about living longer...but I'm sure I want to retire back here if I have the option.
Mebe we could setup a date where we can both get into chat?

Maybe that would work, although I've been pretty busy lately and I think I will be for the foreseeable future, so I usually don't stay on Jref for very long these days. Let's wait until things calm down around here first.

I saw the Strib online, and it said the current temperature was 43 degrees F. Wow, it really is cooling down over there! Gotta love Minnesota!

I am very leary about posting here at all. It seems that people with particular perspective get drive off. The effect has been more than subtle- with less depth and sophistication in the topics and more and more of the superficial and light stuff taking precidence. I'm not certain if the welcome mat is out or not and pretty certain that nastiness and mischief under the cloak of authority lurks just around the next post. Sometimes I find it difficult to not just write what I am thinking rather than couch it to make people happy.

Thank you, Mrs. Amberface!

Be careful what you say! They have eyes everywhere!

Congrats to you Mika, and the only thing I can say is that I understand what you're feeling.

I agree.

There are a huge variety of serious Japan-related topics with discussions that are still open but have been abandoned for want of good posters. With common sense judgement and staying away from anyone you have trouble with -- in other words be heedful of the context and environment -- there really shouldn't be any particular fear of controversy.

The Jref community are akin to the Royal Tenenbaums of the net. We may have our differences and we may not see eye-to-eye, but in the end... we're all still one big dysfunctional family. Cheers Mikawa on your 1-year anniversary.

Yeah, it's gettin' really cool over here. Yesterday I decided to make some hot cocoa and put it in one of those mugs to keep liquids hot (or cold depending upon the liquid) so I wouldn't be nearly to cold at the bus stop, trouble was that it got cool enough to drink about half way though my bus ride (which is ~50 mins) so I spent the second half of the bus ride and part of First hour hot, and my socks were sweaty >.< EWWWIE!!!!

Anyway, PM me or post here when you think you've gotten some free time when we might be able to talk

BTW, you're not the other teacher that I know that's been bust recently, I know a lady down in Australia (her screen name for Descent3 is [RIP]Bess) and she got really busy for the past 2-3 weeks.

Mikawa da man!

Hard to believe it, but I've been here now for a year as of today.
Wow, I'm pretty late to the party. I rarely get outside of the Learning Japanese subforum. (Ahem.) But still, congratulations. I hope that your recent hiatus will be brief. In fact, it seems that it might have ended today! Well, at least I made it in time for that. ^_^

おいおい、Welcome back ! It's never quite the same with Mikawa not around.

Okaeri, Mikawa Ossan. You wouldn't believe how much I missed you~~~

Thanks everyone! It's nice to be back!

I missed everyone, too, and of course their posts, from the helpful advice to the biting sarcasm.

I realize now why, even though I've always had this strange fondness for politics (it's kind of like a strategy game in a way), I ultimately decided to not get involved with it. It's funny, because I really could have gone done that path. Thank goodness I didn't!

YES !! Welcome back Mikawa Ossan san !! MM

Okaeri nasai Mika!!!

Take it easy, and just enjoy.

Glad you're back! It's always nice having another expert around the Learning Japanese forums!

I like the way that sounds....Wile E. Coyote, SUPER Genius!

(Thanks, Glenn!)

Yeah, the suffering that I inflict on everyone in there should be spread around and diluted as much as possible.

You're really killing me today, J44xm! Hahahaha!

ところで、そんなことないっすよ!
