Hard to believe it, but I've been here now for a year as of today. It's been difficult lately, as a good number of my favorite posters have either left or been banned. That makes it hard to maintain interest, but even so, JREF is still the board that I am most active in on the entire internet.

So what is my point?

Although I don't feel the same sense of community that I used to here, Jref is still the closest thing I have to an internet "home". For that, I would like to thank thomas for founding Jref and Maciamo for expanding it.

That's all.

Oh, so today is kinda you and Jref's anniversary! Omedetou~~, Mikawa Ossan.

I've been here for less than half a year, but have already seen some good posters left. Maybe it's just how internet is. People come and stay for a while, get bored, and move on and find another home.

I miss Glenn-san and hope he will come back....

Some people also have less time or went to study. I miss some of the old school members too, and hope they pop in sometime soon Happy JREF-day Mikawa!! :cracker:

Isn't he studying this year in Kyoto? I dunno, when I'm in Japan I never come on either and I can understand why some people would feel driven away but at the same time it is a little rude to leave completely.... and we all soldier on so hopefully they will have a membership to return to.
。。。。みかわおっさん、記念日おめでとう !

Happy a year anniversary Mikawa Ossan!!

It's been really nice to read your-level headed posts. I think Jref can definitely have more people like you. I hope your life in Japan is going well.

Mikawasan, ohisashiburi--!

I'm feeling the same these days but do stick around because of people like you, Frank and Mike.

I'm still waiting for you to update your blog...it's one of the very few places I peek regularly...

omedetou Mikawa!!! I hope you will stay around for a while, because I enjoy reading your posts... dont forget your BLOG !!!!!

COMMUNITY is a good heading or title.

For many of us, JREF is our electronic home away home. Like our lives, in JREF people come and go, some touch us deeply, and others we hardly notice. There are times I say I will not come back, but can't resist the chance to meet new members and learn new things. Long live JREF and thanks to those who keep it up and running.

Uncle Frank

Ah yes...time does seem to have passed while I was standing still. . . and a year already? I'm happy to see your posts, your always busy smilies--I still like the cooking one that had gotten my attention.

Yes, I understand your feelings on some who have left for reasons other than bordom--if that's how you spell it (I'm not in a checking mood now). It is a shame that ever had to happen.

I'll look forward to hearing from you from time to time, and when the time comes for another BBQ, just let me know--it's starting to get cool at night now.

Congradulations on the one year mark !!

let me join to the congrats

おめでとうでござんす!
Anyway, I am kind of busy lately with studying, and I do have to admit that some incidents on this forum made me lose interest a little. But enough about that!!
I just hope to read many more interesting posts and meet some more interesting people!! Maybe you're in a temporary forum-dip Ossan, and I hope you'll see the charms of this messageboard and us lovely posters again.

I just want to take the time to say thanks for sticking around Mikawa Ossan, and thanks to everyone in this thread, whom I'd say represent a very core group of people who contribute greatly to the forums...

...I know there are some troubles we'd all lke to put behind us in the past, so lets continue to do what we can to make Jref the type of forum that we want it to be, informative, welcoming, and our home-away-from-home.

ps. おめでとう

Thank you everyone! I'll try to post again in my blog soon. I've been busy with a couple of projects, but they're all finished for now. (Although I think I'll have a new one starting up next week!)

I'm glad to see that some of the people that I like most who are still on Jref posted here. I'll try to start posting more again soon.

But this year really has gone by pretty quickly. It's been a busy year, and yet, it's amazing how little has really changed in my life. My family is another story, of course. My family has grown quite considerably in the past year. It's nice to welcome new members into the family, isn't it?

I think I have been here for quite a while, and have alot less posts than almost all of you. I have recently been hanging out oh Hello! Project devoted forums, since I have been listening more to that sort of music.

Seems I have been here for slightly more than a year actually, hehe.

Kinsey87, in that year you still didn't figure out the EDIT-button? XD

Yes, it is !! OH....and YOUR FAMILY, my friend ??!!!!
Look forward to seeing you around here, on the boards, and when we decide on our next BBQ--hows 'bout the first weekend in October, or so???

I'll see what I can do! I would enjoy another BBQ!

(Oh, yeah, my family has grown in the sense that I now have two sisters-in-law that I didn't have this time last year!)

Gotcha !!....of course when I had written out that emphasized 'your family'--as you may have sensed--I had been referring to the Mikawa Ossan direct and immediate, the extension from you.

Keep me in touch about how the scheduling goes. MM

Yeah, I thought as much, which is why I clarified like that.

My immediate family in the sense you ask is...well, pretty much exactly where it was last time we met face to face....

Hang in there my friend, and wear your smile well. . .it looks really good on you !! (I'm cheering for you right behind you !) MM

Congrats Mikawa! Sorry if I'm one of the ppl you've seen kinda drift away... I'm not sure how long I've been here myself...

I missed your anniversary... :sorry: It is nice to see you around, hope you stay here!

Congrats Mikawa!

In the end I couldn't stay away from this board just cause it seems the only I've come across with great info on Japan, and people who can understand what I'm talking about.

I don't know if I will stay, or just come back every once in a while. I guess it depends on how enjoyable it is for me to be here. If I get frustrated again, I'll probably take another haitus from this place. I am after all here mostly to enjoy myself.
