I saw Hayley last year. She came to Japan as a member of Celtic Woman on the "New Journey" tour in Tokyo. They were great!!I have heard of her name... Isn't she the quasi-classical singer who's just released a CD of cover versions of Japanese songs? I do remember the original. We had to sing that song in our elementary school choir.. lol

Dogen, the tune that Monk is playing is not Sakura Sakura but another beautiful tune titled Koujou No Tsuki (ﾂ荒ﾂ湘ｩ窶堙固椎ｽ). I didn't know he'd recorded it. Thanks for posting!
At the risk of dating myself, does anyone remember stars from the 1960's ? i.e. Kayoko Moriyama, Keiko Matsuyama, Frank Nagai.... Or, should I just consider myself too old to have membership in jref, and call the undertaker.... biru san1 in Boston.
