Okazaki, Aichi anyone?

Well, I'm so happy about this that I wanted to share it with you guys and ask a question.

I just received my host family info for my year exchange in Japan and I've been told that I will live of a year with a family in a town close to Nagoya called Okazaki . So, question is... has anybody been there, what's it like, did you like it or not. Oh, and if it helps, this is where the Yamasa institute is... interesting.

As a matter of fact, Okazaki is part of the Mikawa region from which I derived my name! I lived nearby in Kariya for a number of years, and in that time I went to Okazaki quite a few times. It's a nice place, with easy access to Nagoya (depending where you live). I liked it, although you may want to invest in an international driver's permit, especially if your house won't be near a train station.
