The word for Lover in particular may not be what you thought you were getting. It is more in reference to admirer or devotee (I think), than a boyfriend-girlfriend relationship. Try "koibito" or "Aijin" instead....

Aijin is probably best avoided in Japanese. While it means "wife" or "husband" in Chinese, it usually refers to a "mistress" in Japanese. You wouldn't want to mark yourself as somebody who sleeps with married men.

Another reason for avoiding kanji tatoos. Meanings can be different depending on where you go.

The first one is used to mean either "daughter" or just a "young girl."

The second two-kanji combination means "female siblings" (in plural form). The first kanji means elder sister and the second one means younger sister.

Third one is "fan" or "user," such as racing fan or cigarette user. Elizabeth's suggestion of "koibito" should be OK.

The fourth means "friend," but use of the first kanji only should be sufficient.

All I can say is it sounded better than 浮気者 or 浮気女 .... Lover in English is also closest to having an affair (with a married partner) in my opinion....

well then you all answered my question they all me almost what i want. i can't be lieing when i tell ppl =] i dont' lke the married man thing so much but it's close and i live in america. everyone will belive everything =P

Are you sure you want to get 姉妹 tattooed onto your body? It'd be like get the words "female siblings" tatooed in English. If you're trying to convey the meaning of "sister", or at least something more sisterly then you might want to go for either 姉 (elder sister) or 妹 (younger sister).
