But spittle, phlegm, dirt from kids hands etc is jsut as bad.mikecash said:Nova is the language teaching equivalent of working at McDonalds. The primary differences being that you dress nicer and don't get spattered with grease.

TECHNICALLY!Ewok85 said:Technically your not supposed to socialise with the students outside class. I cant say I agree but.
Hehe why?Ewok85 said:Pfft, lazy buggers. Go find some women outside of eikaiwa and the clubbing scene
FirstHousePooka said:Hehe why?
The eikawa scene is so easy.
Its all set up for you.
This student of mine has her last lesson Saturday. We already have swapped numbers and I'm completely smitten. As in I REALLY like this girl. I'm hopinh to see her more now she's leaving NOVA.
I'm at the website now!Ewok85 said:Ok, students wanting to take you out to see a movie, hiking, their favorite places is a win. I've had people take me fishing, out camping (got really drunk and sat around talking cars, dont get any funny ideas), to little countryside onsens, an airforce base, temples and shrines left right and center. THESE things are what i remember best, go for it.
Now some guy who just picks up girls at the eikaiwa to have a little 'fun' with is the type that just ruins it for everyone.
Train nanpa is hard, people on the train just want to go from point A to B and dont expect that sorta thing. And have you had a look at shorinji kempo yet?

Thing is, with NOVA's rule I can't even go to the movies, hiking, drinking parties etc.
Even thats against the rules.
Oh yeah. Heard about those establishments. Knew of a girl that had some trouble because she wouldn't return the affections of an overly amorous student, who then kicked up a stink.mikecash said:It could be worse.
I used to teach at a place that practically required us to go out on social events with the students. Whether we wanted to or not. Whether we could stand those particular students or not. No overtime, of course. And no reimbursement of expenses, of course.
After that place, Nova's policy was a relief. After all, it's easier to fool the staff over who you went out with than over who you didn't go out with. Think about it.
