the new thing of this technology is, that by a ultraviolet foton and an electrical field it is possible to use the electronmovement as a storagemedium . for comparison, a hard drive works with magnetical fields, build up by many, many molecules, which on their part consist of atoms, where in are electrons & the core (nucleus)
however that the discs will not be available in shops soon, it is funny to know that they won't be so expensive to produce. the diskdrive with a optical cable with the other parts that have to be connected to the computer would cost about 570-750$ and the disks themselves would be produced at a cost of merely 45$, wich capacity these will have however is not mentioned, but even 1 thousand of the maximumcapacity is still 10 terabyte, so that seems enough for now, dont you think?
