HITSUGI'S SOLO INTERVIEW PART 1 from BARKS:

Intro:
Hitsugi, a person with unique make-up and tricky performance never makes a person tired at looking at him. However, these looks show the opposite of his quiet and serious side, hiding his passion and Nightmare's very shy person, speaks greatly.
Is Hitsugi-kun the person who begun playing guitar to be in a band? Or is it you that wanted to start a band to play guitar?
"In the beginning, it was the guitar. But, now it evenly matches. This is because of playing the guitar for the band's sake and being in the band for the sake of playing guitar. At first, I had no intention of being in a band at all! Simply put, "This artist's phrase (as in guitar phrase) is encouraging," and that's the reason I want to be in a band."
Before you started the guitar, what was your dream?
"What kind of dreams did I have...? None! I would often go to my friend's bicycle remodeling shop to play (laughs). I started guitar during the winter of my 3rd year in junior high. My friend played a musical instrument that was small. It was expensive (laughs). "Can you play it?" was the question I asked. To play the guitar = Being cool. So, I took an interest in guitar because I like HIDE-san. This is really big. At the very beginning, my friend and I would listen to (X-JAPAN's) songs. It was probably "BLUE BLOOD." And when we looked at the booklet (of the CD), everyone had blonde hair. I thought "What kind of people are they? Are they Japanese? Are they foreigners?" However, my friend listened unexpectedly. If I remember correctly, the guitar solo in "Silent Jealousy" was cool! Then my friend said, "play it" but I couldn't (laughs). I said "I want to play" and that's when I started."
Then your parents started liking music more and more?
"They love it. When my parents were young, they always listened to western music. The two of them love oldies. My father is crazy about Elvis Presley and is a huge fan. He even has the figure (statue of Elvis I guess) and record. My mother is a huge Beatles fan, especially of Paul McCartney. That's why when I was a kid, that's the kind of music we would listen to in the car."
Your parents are cool! I certainly didn't know you accepted this influence.
"My motive for starting guitar was X (Japan), their songs were hard, but suddenly by hearing with the body, it felt good since it exceeded the Beatles, Presley, and oldies, don't you think? Perhaps, it was my gut feeling telling me to listen this way (laughs) I always find comfort from it. Concerning a bar (music bar/measure) in a song, you go back to what you like, right?"
How do you feel about making music connected to you?
"I can't carry so much songs, but when I do make songs, the melody comes out... My appearance isn't hard! (everyone laughs) I think the band's main appearance is showy, but when we're making songs, it's good pop. It's easier to put out. But when we want to do something fully, harder songs are made (laughs). I want to see my roots of old rock and roll come out, but I think you can't see such a thing."
