Is there any nice and fun place for the New Year's countdown in Tokyo? Whereby there is fireworks... or special celebration?

I'm staying in Ueno, when does the train service stop?

It is Yokosuka and Yokohama Minato Mirai and Chiba that you can watch fireworks.
In Japan, We do not count down party very much.
"Jyoya no Kane"
I go to a temple at about 23:00 of December 31 and hit ringing bells on New Year's Eve.
"Hatu moude"
I come back to a house and take a bath once.
I visit a shrine for a new year in a Shinto shrine after having cleansed the body.
"Hatu hinode"
Afterwards,
I climb a mountain and watch the first sunrise of a new year.
"otoso"
If I returned to a house,
I do greetings of the New Year to a family.
I drink toso,
I eat Zouni (soup containing vegetables and rice cakes for New Year's Day).
I eat Osechi.
Osechi - Wikipedia
"Otoshidama"
A child of a relative comes for greetings of the New Year,
I give Otoshidama to them.

I take parents to hot spring Ryokan the next day.

This is how to spend my New Year holidays.

The ideal place is Mt. Fuji (so it's going to become very crowded come New Year morning). 😊

How about Mt. Takao?

I would think it's too cold for most people to climb Mt. Fuji this time of year. Takao-san sounds nice though.

If I could be anywhere, I'd be ringing the Joya no kane at Zoujouji. Last year was so fun.

@Hiroyuki Nagashima
Do you know a mountain near Tokyo which is nice for watching hatsuhinode?
As nice_gaijin-san says, Mt. Takao is famous.

thank you, but Epigene suggested it, I merely agreed that it sounded nice. I've been there before during the spring, and it was a very nice hike. I haven't been there during the winter, but maybe I'll try that some day.

oh,
I seem to have failed in translation.
Excuse me.:p

I get drunk a little recently because there is much bounenkai (a year-end party).😌
It is the last today.
Work of this year is over today.
Afterward,
Preparations for New Year holidays.
New Year holidays go home to Kyushu .
New Year holidays of Tokyo look on TV.

A New Year's visit to a Shinto shrine of a famous Shinto shrine of Tokyo is crowded and is hard,
However, please challenge it.
:angryfire

No worries, it was just a simple misunderstanding.

I'm jealous you get to go to so many bounenkai, but you must be tired from all the partying ;) Have you done osouji yet?

Also, I noticed the original post asked how late the train runs. I remember riding on the subway at 2-3am last year, so it's quite possible that the trains run all night for new years. Might depend on the line, though.

Ebisu Gardens usually has a huge New Years bash. Before my time living in Japan, I spent the previous New Year's in Japan just on vacation. That year I hit Ebisu Gardens with my friends and it was quite a party. DJ Krush was spinning and there must have been a few hundred people there at least. You have to buy tickets in advance.

Aside from that nearly every bar in the city will be having some kind of party so I don't think you'll have any trouble finding something to do!

Work-related BOUNENKAI was over.👍
I go home in Fukuoka and drink liquor with an old friend at the end of the year.😌
As for the end of the year, alcohol does not disappear from a body.:(
I clean a room of Tokyo today.
Because it is a built apartment this year,I think that cleaning is over immediately.
A house of Fukuoka,I clean it after going home.
And I should clean a doghouse for a house dog.
A dock circle is larger from an apartment of Tokyo.😭

From the night of December 31 to an early morning of January 1
JR and a subway seem to run.

Asakusa Line, Toei Mita Line, Shinjuku Line, Ooedo Line
A train runs every about 30 minutes.
