I felt the "PC" appears more approachable and kind of childlike than the "Mac" in the new ad for the Mac. Is it because I also am a "PC"? 😌 What do you think?

I'm with you on that one, grapefruit. The "hipper than thou" attitude of the Mac rubs a geezer like me the wrong way. lol I suppose someone like me is not among Mac's target consumers..

BTW, I remember the young actor (Justin Long) who plays "Mac" in this series of ads from a TV show called "Ed" that used to be on NBC (or was it CBS?) in the US a few years back. He played one of the students of the main character, Ed, a school teacher played by Tom Cavanaugh. I used to like that show.

I've always found ads that simply point out and amplify the "problems" of a competing product to be highly distasteful and somewhat childish. I think that, rather than focusing on your opponent, you should try to show the good qualities of your own product. We all know Vista has its issues, myself included, but I simply can't understand why Apple does not attempt to explain how its own OS is superior. It really makes me cringe when I watch ads like these, even if I'm a fan of the maker's product.:(

I always knew politicians were childish. Their ads are much the same way.

I'm not too sure about the "approachable and childlike", but I do agree with Clawn: I'd prefer that the ads focus on Mac's own strengths, not on PC's weakness. I'm a PC person myself. Vista seems like it's trying to be like Mac. I had such a hassle with Vista that I actually "downgraded" a laptop system from Vista to XP.

Does Apple think its potential customers are so dense that they can't see through the hypocrisy here? Criticizing the competition's marketing strategy by launching a massive negative ad campain...:p

Here's Apple criticizing Microsoft software by.....bragging that their system runs some Microsoft software. Well done.
