Hi all,
In English there are sayings like "I have never seen such a wonderful thing before" for complimenting etc.

As an example.
If I was trying to give a compliment to a host while visiting their garden. Would the following be close to the intended meaning in English.

こんな綺麗な所は見て初めてです

よろしくお願いします

Probably you are confusing こんな綺麗な所は初めて見ました and こんな綺麗な所を見たのは初めてです.
You can also say こんな綺麗な所は(今まで)見たことがありません.

こんなに綺麗な庭なんて見たことありません。

こんなに綺麗な庭なんて初めてみたんです。

Thanks guys, yes it seems I was mixing different grammar paterns.
Statements like こんな綺麗な所は(今まで)見たことがありません. And こんなに綺麗な庭なんて見たことがありません.

Are so handy. I often talk to my friends about shrines or temples I have visited so being able to use these patterns in the past tense can really convey the feelings of admiration, awe, astonishment etc.

こんな見事な寺は(今まで)見たことがありませんでした
