Need Translation On this Japanese Navy Flag

Hi all, Need help on this flag who recently found in my Gramps treasure box.

all help would be appreciate.

Additional note, I've google the entire net and NOT* a Navy signed flag and expert opinion are need

From the Tsuchiura Naval Aviation School

That flag was from a squad in what turned out to be the last batch of trainees, entering the school in two sections, one April 1, 1945 and the other June 1, 1945.

The school was burned to the ground in an aerial bombardment on June 10, 1945, with 182 students killed.

Any name that I can return this flag to?

Would love to know from the counter part that their families member died rather than putting hope in their survival

The whole damned war was a tragic incident.

No, there is no name. Only the school, class, and squad. Still searching for anything about the squad but I don't expect to find anything.

Wikipedia has the name of the school's commanding officer at the time.

The flag probably belonged to the squad as a whole and was used as a guidon rather than belonging to any one particular student.

For anybody who can read Japanese there is an interesting account from an earlier graduate of the school here.

Note that this was a ground school and students were later sent elsewhere for flight training; the school had no aircraft.

It belonged to an enlisted men's unit. This unit was a pilot's training unit attached to the Yokosuka Naval District (which is where the 横志飛 on the flag's far right comes from)
