Need help with translating a few sentences from Genki I

These come from the genki I book (lesson 4) and I tried to translate them myself but I don't know if it's correct.

あなたの町(まち)に日本(にほん)のレストランがありますか。
Is there a Japanese restaurant in your town?

あなたの家(いえ)に猫(ねこ)がいますか。
Is there a cat in your house?

あなたの学校(がっこう)に何(なに)がありますか。

-Guess: What is there at your school

あなたの学校(がっこう)に日本人(にほんじん)の学生(あｪくせい)がいますか。
Is there a Japanese student at your school?

デパートに何(なに)がありますか。

Who is in this classroom?

動物園(どうぶつえん)に何(なに)がいますか。

Then one final question. I need to answer those questions, too.
So, are the following sentences written correctly?

ええ、日本(にほん)のレストランがあります。
Yes, there's a Japanese restaurant.

いえ、猫(ねこ)がいません。
No, there are no cats.

あそこにプールがあります。
There's a swimming pool over there.

ええ、います。
Yes, there is.

かばんとかさがあります。
There are bags and umbrellas.

あれは英語(えいご)の先生(せんせい)です。
That's our English Teacher.

動物園(どうぶつえん)に動物(どうぶつ)がいます。
There are animals in the zoo.

私の国(くに)に花(はな)をたくさんがあります。
There are many flowers in my country.

ちうにテレビがあります。
There's a TV in our house.

If you are translating from Japanese to English, then those translations look ok.

Were these sentences taken from the book?
あなたの町(まち)に日本(にほん)のレストランがありますか。
ええ、日本(にほん)のレストランがあります。

I don't think that's typically how you would say "Japanese restaurant."

日本料理屋 or 日本料理屋さん sound more natural to me, but I could be mistaken.

In the first post, yes. I wanted to know for sure if I understood the questions correctly.

My second post has the answers i had to give by using あります and います.

Since I'm studying on my own, I wanted to know for sure I'm learning it the right way.

To me, nihon no resturan sounds like a restaurant in Japan....
For a restaurant outside Japan, I would say 日本料理店 or 日本レストラン first, 日本料理のレストラン could be a logical choices in some cases as well ? But 日本料理屋 seems to refer to something more exclusive than the local neighborhood eatery.

私の国(くに)に花(はな)をたくさんがあります。

There's no を. ....hana ga takusan arimasu. is correct

あれは英語(えいご)の先生(せんせい)です。
That's our English Teacher.

Don't use kore, sore, are for people. Sono hito wa (watashitachi no) eigo no sensei desu.

(in the affirmative sentence; はい、猫がいます。)

You can also answer by using います,

英語の先生がいます。
Our English teacher is there (in the classroom).

If you say 日本のレストラン, I have a feeling that it is a chain restaurant owned by a Japanese company.
In an informal conversation, I would say 日本食のお店, 日本食を出すお店 referring to a restaurant where they serve Japanese food.

Don't use kore, sore, are for people. Sono hito wa (watashitachi no) eigo no sensei desu.

Using kore or sore for people may sound rude.

Ano hito (or more politely, ano kata) ga watashitachi no eiogo no sensei desu.
would be another possibility.

When the teacher is standing far from you and the other person you are talking to, use "ano" instead of "sono".

Your corrections/elaborations are great.

It crossed my mind as more appropriate in some contexts for this answer as well:

動物園(どうぶつえん)には動物(どうぶつ)がいます。
There are animals in the zoo.

But then I hesitated too long to introduce anything that confusing to the OP at this point....

Actually, since I don't know the "level" of Genki I lesson 4, I omitted the phrases "うちには, 教室には,,," on purpose to avoid explaining why the particle "には" should be used here.

- Ah, of course. Genki always used を in the examples, so I thought I had to use it, but then again, the particle would be different depending on the sentence.

I'm taking this one because it fits with the excersize.
I also make a note for myself that the ones Hirashin & Elizabeth mentioned
1. あの人が私達の英語の先生です。(That person is our English teacher.)
2. あの方が私達の英語の先生です。(That person is our English teacher.) (polite)
can also be used as answers.

haven't learned yet the use of two particles (には) yet, but I read that Genki will go in more detail about this in the later lessons.

Right. These sentences are perfectly make sense. However, (I hesitated to point it out in my first post ) they are odd as the answer to the question "この教室にだれがいますか." They would be the ones to "この教室にいるのはだれですか."

この教室にだれがいますか。
Who is in this classroom?

英語の先生がいます。
Our English teacher is there.

or you can also answer
誰(だれ)もいません。
No one is there.

この教室にいるのはだれですか。
Who is the person in this classroom?

あの人は私達の英語の先生です。
That person is our English teacher.
あの方は私達の英語の先生です。
That person is our English teacher. (polite)

The difference between the two questions is that the questioner doesn't know whether or not someone exists in the classroom in the former one. (So it's odd the answer starts with "あの人は…; that person is..." abruptly.)

I would have also used には for some the first group of questions posted to emphasize a location...but particularly not in "directional" sentences such as このホテルに、ヘルスクラブ・（トイレ。。。）がありますか？to avoid sounding ungracious by calling attention to the standards of the place itself...Hey, in this place do you have a health club ??!...just feels bad/mixed up somehow.

Of course adding は completely depends on the situation you find yourself in. And, for me at least, it's always something that has to be considered in English first...

Right. It depends on the context (of course ), but "には" could have that nuance especially in the form like "このホテルには、ヘルスクラブがないんですかあ？"
