Need a translation..

I am going to send an e-mail to both my Japanese teacher
And one of my host families I stayed with a few years ago.
I need to know how to say:" During the week I am in Japan, may I give you a call about getting together?" or "May I give you a call to see if you would have some time to meet?" The first one is probably more simple and less wordy. Anyway, I want to be polite, but not too formal.

There are a few phrases, but I don't understand the situation perfectly - Have you started to make plans or spoken with her about meeting already ? If she knows you are coming and this is to call and confirm a tentative arrangement it may not be appropriate.

(Time you are going) Nihon ni iku yotei desu ga, I plan to be in Japan...
Nihon ni iru aida ni/wa, While I am in Japan....
denwa wo kakete mo yoi desuka ? May I call you....

Anata no gotsugou no yoi toki ni, moshikashitara aeru kamoshiremasen ne. Maybe we can meet at a time that is convenient for you. etc....

Yes, both my teacher and host family knows that I am coming and they would like to get together. I am just sending this e-mail to let them know the dates, and of course, to ask if I can call them when I get there to see what time would be good for them, where can they meet, etc. Will just,
"Nihon ni iru aida ni/wa, denwa wo kakete mo yoi desuka ? " Be fine by itself? Do I use niwa, or either one of the particles? And, would it be better to say odenwa rather than denwa?

May I call sometime while I am in Japan ? is good. I didn't know enough of the context earlier.

Just to be sure, does just saying that make it obvious that I want to talk about what time is good for them etc.? I was wondering if it was a little vague saying that alone.
Could I say something like tokoro de(by the way) or chinami ni at the beginning of this sentence to make it flow a little better from the previous topic in my email?

Maybe something like "Tokorode, watashitachi no au bashou wo ima kimeru hitsuyou wa nai desune." We don't have to decide the place that we will meet right now, do we? [Can I call you sometime when I am in Japan ?] sounds a little less pushy and more indirect, at least to me.

By the way, if you need to warn them you will be calling repeatedly, over and over, then use "Nihon ni iru aida wa..."
