Nagoya University Global 30 Program 2016 (Graduate)

Hey tracy , How is everything going? How did the scholarship thing went? and have you heard anything new about the admission process?
Do you know something about the dorms? Do we have to apply for them too somewhere, or how does that works?

For me im now waiting again for the interview, hopefully this time goes different.

Glad to hear from you. So now I'm submitting the application to MEXT with the support of Student offfice.
Hopefully things go well for both of us.

I've got news about the enrollment, you may find the brief schedule below:
- September 20-30: orientation fsstststudent.
- October 1st: new academic starts.
- October 5: welcome ceremony.
I think it applies to every school.
Let's stay hopeful and keep each other posted.
 
Hopefully you can get the Mext scholarship .
Do you know anything about the dorms and those issues? I got a friend going to a similar program but in germany and they have to apply for the dorms in a different application.
Also do you know if the welcome ceremony its for every school? or is it a big one for all schools together?
 
Thank you. I will get the result around July but I'm already checking mail I don't know, even 5 times a day since last month hahha.

You could find the schedule attached below, it says for G30 program so I think it's for all schools.

About the dorm, information is available in the following link: Nagoya University Academics / Campus Life However the staff told me that we could not choose which dorm to live....Application for dormitory is around June, same as Visa application schedule.

Hahaha , i know how that feels.. checking the mail for like 100 times per week, just hell.
Im so confused with the Dorm applications now, there are soooo maaaaaany of them with so many different application periods....
In my case the interview is gonna be sometime in June, the application time for the school ends in May 27 and the final results are published sometime early July so i will probably apply for the ones available for those dates
The professor insists that im basically accepted already... but who knows Haha.

Oh yea, have you met anyone else going for the G30 2016 of Nagoya university?

So you must be applying for the rolling admissions right? I believe 1000% that if your professor says you're in then you just need to chill. The problem with you is that you're worrying toooo much .

Haha well im pretty sure you worry too much too !
Its probably just the fact that we probably know nothing and we are just doing everything we can at the same time haha.
And well im applying for the Graduate Med school, for some weird reason its the ONLY one with a different application period... haha

This time the process has been veeeeeery different for me.
The application dates are not done yet and i already got the interview for this June 10th, so i got that going for me. Any updates from your things or advises for me? :hungry:

I had the interview yesterday.
It was very different from what i expected...but overall it went very well from my perspective.
It was a pannel of 3 Doctors, they were all very nice and polite it just went a little weird i suppose, they didnt ask me to introduce myself, they just asked me to explained which was my name and which was my last name haha. They asked me things about my background mainly, the program and what i wanted to do after the PhD. It was a really short interview, 10 mins tops. They also didnt ask about my previous thesis and research, which i found odd, i suppose i was expecting a way harsher interview or something like that, i dont even know anymore haha.

Damn ! So you are basically ready for leaving... have you bought your tickets yet? When are you planning on arriving?

Oh also, the application says they give results in early July but i was hoping they would release them earlier..What do you think?

Guessing from your post I think you've made it to the Med school for sure. Yayyy.
Yeah and I'm more than ready to just leave, all I need to do now is waiting (how painful it is () , for the CoE and for the scholarship announcement (which will be weirdly released in Mid August...). I've already planned to quit my job haha and to have a gap month traveling.
 
Damn so you gotta have the money in case you dont get the scholarship ready right? Hopefully you will get it...

Im in the waiting too now Hahaha, I was sent today that the results will come up on July 12 ....... Sigh and they told me to have the money for the registration fee ready too in case i pass the examination.

It is painful , im also ready for quitting my job hahaha..ill get 2 months free to plan the traveling..
 
Hey there ! Looks like i was accepted to the university the exact same date i was rejected by my national scholarship due to the fact that i couldnt present an final acceptance letter Hahaha. FML.
I guess ill try to find some scholarships now and just use my savings

Oh... I don't know whether I should happy for you or sad. But don't worry, Nagoya and Japan offer many types of scholarship that you could apply after enrollment. You could reach out for your professor and the student office. I guess it'll be not so difficult for you to get one with your research background.

As for me, I've already proceeded the VISA application from my end, still waiting for the CoE (which supposed to be available in late August) and yes again, waiting for MEXT result (which I don't know why it'll be soooo late, around mid August). So it'll be a long, miserable patience game...
 
Yea to some extent i dont understand why they take so much time to announce things, i now understand that they actually got the results way before the announce them, its just weird to me.
I suppose ill try to get some sort of scholarship of any kind once im there, yea i dont know how to feel either hahaha, i suppose good, because at the end of the day i got accepted and ill figure out something once im there.

On another note, since we might meet each other there, do you wanna share social media? FB, skype or mail?. Its also totally find if you dont want to.

Ealier today my school office email me about delaying in getting result which pushes the expected date till mid august.
This is so confusing and frustrating...

Hey there ! I am not sure what you meant by program, but i got accepted to the Graduate School of medicine(School of medicine not the School of health science) in the G30 program, i will not have any scholarship at least for 1 year.

What department or school did you apply? and Congratulations ! Lets all meet up in nagoya
