It took a heck of a lot of effort to build the name translator thingummy - and to get my boss to prioritize work on the site.... Finally it is paying off :).

Yeah, I flipped out this morning when I saw my site stats and the number one visitor source was USA Today! (It even beats the 10,000 I got in one day last week when the site was on www.i-am-bored.com!)

Thanks. I appreciate your encouragement. The thing about websites is that they are never finished, so there is still a lot of work to do.

Anyway, I have a press release out now so I hoping I can get the USA Today thing to snowball into more publicity from other sites. Our budget is so tiny, we have to make the most of anything :).

The reviews I like best, though, are the ones I get from satisfied customers, like this one I got this morning - "Thank you very much for your excellent customer service" - from a customer we did a special order translation for in MA, USA.
 
I always admire people with simple concepts that can potentially make things into a big success. I'm currently working on an Asian pop culture magazine, and a documentary on Hip hop/break-dance culture in Japan and I hope to achieve big success with both projects myself.

Hmm, it told me that my name was ﾆ嘆ﾆ椎槌停?? I had always thought it was ﾆ丹ﾆ椎槌停?? It nailed my last name, though, and that's not that easy to do.

Of course, it is not foolproof, but if you have a tricky name, you can always just input it phonetically and you should get the right / 95% right answer.

There is a katakana writing tutor and a hiragana writing tutor too. Be sure to check them both out.

You can make learning katakana a bit more fun by putting different names into the translator, practicing reading them (checking yourself against the pronunciation audio files) and then trying to write them using the writing tutor as a reference.

If by "Car" You mean "RC Car". If you look closely you can tell its an RC. Its one of my hobbies.
