Well, I actually up with a pretty good $734.00 deal from Chicago-Narita which is almost exactly $300 less than last May. So still feels like a major discount. Now if I can just come up with strategies to avoid hotels....:p
 
Anything less than $800 in the midwest sounds pretty good to me. Of course closer to $600 would be a lot better. ;)

Both rates courtesy of IACE Travel-Chicago which always seems to come out with the best finds -- although the $600 offer was also around the time of more late-summer airline terrorism threats, mid-700's seems about the norm for most specials through Aug. So am totally relying on the fall folliage to make up for all this hassle and be at its normal peak the week of Oct 27-Nov 6 ! :p
