Here's what I get when I try....first click on ''multi-quote'' as many time (posts) as you want, and on the end for final quote click regular ''quote''
i think i did it that way
Whenever I hit the multi quote function I still only get the person that I am quoting and not the encompassed quotes that are included in the message.
I notice that J-bot has that function and uses it often, could someone here tell me if there is a problem with how I am using it. I just hit the multi-quote option but only the thread poster's quote appears.
The same as if I hit the regular quote function.
I did a quick search using the term "multi-quote" but found no pertinent information.
Thanks for any information or assistance here.
Good question! I think I got it to work properly once, but I've never been able to replicate my success. If it were a science experient, I would seriously be considering whether or not to scrap the whole idea that the multi-quote option truly exists!
I would also love to hear how to use the multi-quote thing properly!
testing 1234567890As would I. After hearing about the wonders of this feature, I was eager to try it out, and gave it my best shot, but alas to no avail.
Here's what I get when I try....
Actually for myself what I was interested in finding out if the multi-quote would show quotes within quotes like j-bot does.
I'm sorry that's what I thought the multi-quote function was for.
it was possible before, but not now, i believe because posts can be really big that way
Sorry you really lost me there.
I hit it twice this time and it still only gave me this.
True they can get "large" yet if that is the fact then why does j-bot have that capability?
Either way, I still would appreciate finding a reasonable explanation on how to use the multi-quote function.
Thanks for trying here.
. .a quotewithin a quote

Ok how did you make the "nested" quote on this post? Could you edumacate me please?. .
I have no problem making nested quotes.

I am searching the web now for the Multi-quote function and found this:
http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/showthread.php?t=186803
Problem is, the same as you have, I can only quote the first post.
So maybe the problem is that the Multi-quote function is not enabled, I have send a message to the Admin about this, if he can check it out.

Not only to you Dutch but to everyone here thanks for your prompt assistance.
One question...not in relation to the thread per say... but how do members get in contact with the administrators here?
I dont see anyone other than moderators and "de-commissioned" administrators, what ever that may mean. But is there a method or way for "regular" members to directly contact the admins here?
Thanks for your assistance.
wth.... all I did was hit the "regular" quote function here and my post automatically multi-quoted. Sorry but now I am truly confused here.
Any guesses?
Oh my god! I got it to work!!!!!you CAN do it manually, of course, but it is really necessary?
it would be easier if it is automatic... but, then again.. posts are getting bigger and bigger
Oh my god! I got it to work!!!!!

By the way, Obeika, the admins are not "active" any more. It's a L-O-N-G story, but basically they just do maintenance nowadays.
Just another part of Jref lore, like the Legend of McTojo, the epic saga of StrongVoicesForward, the tragedy of Lexico, etc. etc.Ok unless one of them "pop" in here I'll have to post these kinds of questions here.
L-O-N-G story huh! Sounds interesting.
I find you can also use it for the most recent post as well as the first. It's kind of fun now that I know how to use it! Thanks again!
I'm relieved. I guess it is made for continuing post based on first, but i do not know why. like i do not want to quote something else, like now...
if you already tried, that your first post just got stuck in your reply and you haven't noticed
