Hmm, I don't know if you know your Tolkien ... ^^v

I wasn't sure how to show The Cavern as a name ...
Anyway if you would take a look at this I'd be very grateful.

The Cavern is a small hole in the Rock, but very
confortable. Much more than Bilbo's house in the
Bagend. This is Albie's home!

岩窟はロックに小さい穴だが、とてもくつろぎ

how to find room discriptions,
what MOOsaico want to do/be ?
I believe that I can find the room discriptions in Japanese that I'm involved in .

If you 'look' you will see the room you are in.
If you '@ways' you will see how you can leave the room you are in.
To see the Japanese room descriptions you will need to do the following ...

- Set MOOzilla -> Edit -> Preferences -> HTML mode to 'Raw source code'
- Set @misc-options +isolatin1
- @language nihongo (To see Japanese descriptions)
- @wrap off
- @pagelen 0 (unfortunatly)

To type in Japanese you will also need a patched MOOzilla. I can either email you the entire (500kb) .xpi file or I can email you the (tiny) file that is used to patch it and the (a tad complicated) instructions on how to do so.

That's a difficult question

Basically chat, roleplay, build areas & items, play some of the games other people have built there.

I spend most of my time thinking about translations, trying to work out how to support Japanese better and how to get more people to visit.

I visited MOOsaico agian, and I'm glad to find the Japanese descriptions on MOOsaico, ...and was surprised at a few KANSAI-BEN ones. lol

だよ is not appropriate to represent the ! ,
because だよ sounds gentler, softer and milder than 「だ」「である」.

Er thanks, but you don't want to take that too seriously.

That's sort of like a company's "Mission Statement". It looks very impressive, but it doesn't bear much relation to reality.

Incidently most of the help texts done haven't been put in MOOsaico yet - as command aliases are done in Japanese they'll need minor changes made.

Don't worry. I don't take it too seriously.
I think the statement would help my understanding about MOOsaico.

At any rate, I will read helps and try to understand all of MOOsaico.

Yup, I've been busy elsewhere (when I haven't been ill ^^; ).

I've been looking at the Smaug MUD codebase - allegedly there is a unicode UTF-8 patch for it somewhere but I haven't been able to find it. Personally I tend to prefer MUDs to MOOs, in theory I might be able to get a MUD running on my home computer (but I'll probably find there are horrible problems when I actually try it...)

As a MUD there would be more emphasis on character levelling / improvement / doing quests and less on building / chatting / mini-games.

Of course this is all very hypothetical at the moment.

I'm actually too busy to be spending the time wandering Japanese forums that I am so I'll have a proper look at your translation this evening. :sorry:
