Hello, my trip to Japan is coming up this Sunday, everything is prepared now. However I just thought about money safety. Should I be overly worried about pick pockets in Tokyo? If anyone has any suggestions or advice, it would be much appreciated.

Generally, there's no problem. But things can and do happen on occasion. If you want to take an extra precaution, keep your money in your front pocket.

Also, keep a photocopy of your passport separate from the passport itself. If you should lose your passport, having a photocopy would speed up getting it replaced.

Photocopying you passport is a great idea. Something I forgot to do.

It's a cliche but use common sense. Don't flash big wads of money unnecessarily, I split my cash in two stacks and kept them in separate front pockets. Also if you plan to visit an Onsen I'd spend the 50-100 yen and pay for a locker.
Give a thief an opportunity they will take it.

The above tips are great, but I'd also write down your credit card info on a piece of paper along with the phone number you have to call to have it blocked and leave that in your hotel room, just in case. And obviously copying your plane tickets is a good idea too.

And if you're really worried about carrying around a lot of cash I guess you could use a money belt...

Sure, take your precautions, but I wouldnt let it worry you. Most of Tokyo is very safe.
