Miyavi

no no no no no no... you missunderstood. I was talking about the 4000 post in this thread.

AND: I dont think is wrong to like MYV just for his looks. I only like him for his looks and kinda digust his music (a lot). Tho I used to like him more back on Dl'Q.

Thank you for making me feel welcomed. another song i like is girls be ambitious. the first song i heard was this song.

I think that it's fine to like Miyavi's looks but he would like people to like his music as well, since that's what he spends a lot of time and energy working on!
Of course, if you don't like the music you can't make yourself like it... but in that case it's better to not be a 'crazy Myv fangirl' but only a 'slight' fan - if you get my meaning.

no one will shoot you for liking only his looks. but just, when someone else talks about an artiste you like and when it comes down to anything else, you don't know a thing..isn't that just sort of..sad? miyavi wants his fans to like his music too or otherwise, he just continue to be a model and won't be a solo artiste. but this doesn't mean to abandon his looks lol, that's what he does photoshoots for

Hii ^^ I just became a member here, although I have been reading this forum from page 1 since last week, it's hilarious! I LOVE IT! ^^
<3 The pictures, videos, discussions, randomness and just plain wonderfulness! I've laughed so hard sometimes reading this thread ^^ I actually fell off my chair once! (yeah.. I'm weird ^^ and that usually only happens when I see new Miyavi pictures) Anyways, I'm a HUGE Miyavifan, and I feel like I've found a place for me, haha, when I saw this thread I was kinda like "wow, others like me!! spazzy"
Currently I'm obsessing over Dear my friend and Itoshii Hito (which I listen to when I go to sleep at night.. hehe, that's not weird actually, just nice ^^) and I'm trying to learn how to navigate on Meevs main homepage >_< It's TRICKY!

Oh ****. I'm so tired.
Iiiih..
Well, I just wanted to say 'hi' so.. hi! ^^
(gome for the kinda long message.. )

Thanks ^^ I'm not so used to write in english though, so I hope you all can forgive me for weird spelling, me making up words and so on >.<
And oh, the new translation of Meevs diary is wonderful! Thanks so much for that ^^ (Haha.. Its funny how just knowing you're reading his own words is exciting ) *slides down rainbow singing 'Jibun Kakumei'*

Welcome Pinkplasticgun!

and Placebo: LOL! I'm still all confused about that scandal thing. All I know is that the tabloid wrote that Miyavi was fooling around with some woman... who is the PSC president??!?!?! I don't know if i'm getting that part right.

But oh wells. I'm sure Miyavi has his own private life that we shouldn't really be poking into.

in the japanese tabloids in march, there were these pictures of him and the psc president holding hands or something..so there was this rumor about them being together. so he responded in his diary that even though she helped him through thick and thin, hes never had any interest in her sexually, he thinks of her as his mother, etc etc. and he was saying how he never responds to tabloids but this rumor was pissing him off and his staff, fans, because its ok for him and his close people to talk crap about each other but its not okay for others (the reporters) talking crap about him, etc etc. lol

oh and btw, i think a fan is someone who just likes an artist in general. it doesnt matter if its only for their looks, or only for their music, or vice versa. as long as theres an aspect you like about that artist, then you are a fan. and its ok. personally, i like his looks MORE THAN his music. if anything, hyde is way better in music and singing. =X Miyavi is way better in looks than music, although he is pretty damn awesome in his guitar skills. this is my opinion. but of course you have to know something about an artist to determine whether you should like them or not in general. so yea, for those who only likes him for his looks, its ok but try to learn about his musical aspects as well to see whether you should continue liking him for his looks only or not. lol regardless, as long as we all love him, then we are his fans. doesnt matter what reasons we love him for. *high five. lol

oh and one more thing, i wouldnt say that Miyavi only truly wants his fans to like his music instead of his looks because i remember in one of his interviews, a reporter asked him if he liked when he was in Due Le Quartz more or his solo project, and he responded, " thats like asking me if i like my father or mother more". and when the reporter asked if he liked making movies or music more, and he responded similarly, " thats like asking if i like my grandfather or grandmother more" <- this comment shows that he cant choose, and he doesnt prefer making music more than making movies. (im not saying that hes not passionate about his music then) but his response indirectly makes the implication that he wouldnt mind either way why his fans like him, for his looks, music, or movies. just him in general is good enough. thats my opinion. ;D

I don't see how anything you said explains how he would like it if people liked him for his looks. Though I do agree that he likes it when people think he is pretty because I could have sworn I read somewhere he modeled as a teen and he got the eye thing because he wanted to be prettier. Also to this day he seems to like taking photos and being infront of the camera. I think a fan is a person who adores another person or group because of what they do. Miyavi is not a model he is a musician so from my perspective you are ONLY a fan if you like his music.

btw, i think youve misunderstood me. i never wrote or said, "he would like it if people liked him for his looks". i said that, " i wouldnt say that Miyavi only truly wants his fans to like his music instead of his looks and that "he wouldnt mind either way why his fans like him, for his looks, music, or movies". in MY perspective, i think a fan can be someone who likes a particular someone/something as a whole, in general. regardless of what they do, how they act, how they look, or who/what they are. for ex: i can say im a huge fan of McDonalds. and you can ask how or why. i can say im a fan because i think their food tastes good. or, im a fan because their food looks good. or, im a fan because i like how they advertise their products on t.v. or even, im a fan because i like Ronald McDonald. lol i can like it for either reasons, and it can still make me a fan. in terms of Miyavi, if he cant even choose which one hes likes more, acting or music, then does that mean he only wants his fans to be his fans through his music.? i doubt it. (note that i've never mentioned anything about him wanting us to like his looks instead, either). My point is that, i've acknowledged there are people out there who likes him for other reasons instead of his music, and its ok. they can still be called fans. everyone has their own perspectives and we should all tolerate differences. if you think we can ONLY be Miyavi's fan through his music, i respect that. but i feel otherwise, and you should respect my opinion too. like ive said before, we all love him, regardless of our reasons, we are his fans. wakarimasu ka? *high fiveeeee lol ;D

Wakarimasen....I never said that you said what I posted if I did I would have used "'s. All I was saying is in your original post you said " i wouldnt say that Miyavi only truly wants his fans to like his music instead of his looks because...". Your post did not explain why you thought that.

Oh and about the Mcdonalds thing of course you could be a fan for all those reasons. Why? Because its connected to what they are about food, ronald, ads etc but I wouldnt think you are a fan because you liked the lighting in the restaurant. Just like I think people are fans of Miyavi because they like his music because thats what he is about.

I think people kinda feel the same I do because if you tell someone you are a fan of musical artist and they say "oh whats your fav song" and you reply " I am not a fan of his music but his looks" you would probably get strange looks from people.

Anyways where are those tabloid pics.

ok, even if my post didnt explain to you why i thought that. but why would you think otherwise? just because hes a musical artiste? but why would you think he wants us to like him or be his fan ONLY for his music? i mentioned his interview response in that post to try to explain if HE cant even prefer music over movies, what reasons do YOU have that would make you think he wants his fans to be his fans only through music? and, why cant his physical beauty be a part of what Miyavi is about when all those aspects of McDonalds can? so you are saying he is not about looks, its about music only. thats a bit of an idealistic comment. you can say his music is what makes YOU his fan, and thats a good reason. i have no comment on that. but others can say vice versa and it still makes them a fan because his good looks is what they are fanatics about. fanatics just means a devotee to something, doesnt matter what or why or how. they are just crazy about that thing.
i do agree that if someone asked about your fav musical artist, who is it and fav song and such, then that person's his music fan. but i can say also, if someone asked who's your fav jap male celeb or hottest male you've seen in your life, and you say Myv.. that person is a fan of his physical aspect. no prob with that, is there?

once again, tolerance of difference is the key here. although you are his fan only through his music, you cant refute other people from being his 'fan' through other aspects of him. it still makes us Miyavi fans. let's leave it at that. ii desu ka?

anyways, his tabloid pics were probably in that livejournal because someone had seen it and made a comment about it. you probably have to ask one of the translators whos in charge of that particular post though.

i don't see how you can be a HUGE fan and go, oh i absolutely LOOVEE this so and so musician, when you don't know about anything he does music-wise. when you say you are a big fan of an actor, people would assume you'd at least seen his movie & like them. As i said, go ahead and no one will shoot you if you just want to like his looks alone, but you'll just sound stupid when people talk about his music, and you said you know next to nothing other than his cute looks. And yes every fan is still a fan.
that doesn't not mean Miyavi only truly wants his fans to like music instead his looks, that means Miyavi can't choose between Dlq's music and his solo music or between making movies and music.
but why would you think he wants us to like him or be his fan ONLY for his music?
And in my previous post, i had said that this DOESN'T mean we ignore his looks. There's a reason why Miyavi does photoshoots.

Hmmm this is getting a little confusing for me @.@... just my take on it... Miyavi is probably the most difficult J-music star to say this about! because he does different things - music, acting in movies, and of course so much photoshoots you can almost say that he is a model as well! ^^ And like you pointed out, I'm sure he couldn't choose which aspect of what he does he likes the most or would want other people to be most interested in... well he said himself he cannot choose.

My view is simply because music is the most important thing for me, so looking from my perspective, if I don't much like someone's music then I will not consider myself a 'fan' of them; that's only because music is my main interest (for example, I don't have any movie actors I'm a fan of, because I don't have so much interest in movies). That's my personal viewpoint and nothing to do with objectiveness or what Miyavi might/mightn't want.

I think it's ok to be a 'fan' of only one aspect of what someone does providing that it's clear that they do have these separate aspects - for example, an actor who does modelling; you could say he is a very good model but a lousy actor, or vice versa, and still be a 'fan'. ^^

With Miyavi, I view his music as the major part of what he does because that is the route by which he started off, on his career, and what he built his success on, and still the primary foundation of his career and 'persona'; the 'modelling' that he does is still based around promoting his music (through his personality), and although he acted, in a movie, it is not so much that it's a significant other branch of his career.

What I am driving at... is... Me, I am not comfortable to call myself a fan, I would never call myself a 'Miyavi fan' because although I think he is very good-looking, I don't like his music enough to consider calling myself a 'fan' of his. Don't get me wrong, I like his music fine enough on balance, but not enough to call myself a 'fan' I think. BUT I am quite happy to hear other people calling themselves 'fans' for WHATEVER reason that they want, whether it's the music or just his looks alone. BUT I have to add that it can be annoying if people go on and on about his looks and how hot he is, but dislike his music or know nothing about it... it just strikes me as a bit disrespectful... because although Myv himself had said he can't choose in most important being music or other things, but he does work significantly on his music and it's disrespectful in my view to disregard that... I'm not saying everyone has to like the music but they should at least listen to it and have an opinion on it... since that is part of what makes Miyavi who he is...

Sorry for long post.

i mentioned his interview response in that post to try to explain if HE cant even prefer music over movies, what reasons do YOU have that would make you think he wants his fans to be his fans only through music?
this is more like common sense actually. Sure you like his looks but I WOULD think a musician wants people to like his music too, and an actor wants people to like his movies. A musician does not get music awards based solely on looks.

yes exactly. i love you & your explanations =DDDD

^ i like that picture

I think Miyavi's tattoos are the most attractive tattoos on anyone! I usually don't like them but it looks so good on Miyavi. He's like an exception for everything.

WooT!!! yes Miyavi looks pretty with tatoos... i dont normally like them on people... especiall the coloured ones!!! but they do really suit him!!!

yes i totally agree with Kinsao too. that person is like the only one who had understood what iam getting at. i never said Miyavi only wanted us to like his music more than his looks or vice versa. i just said i had acknowledged there are people who likes him for other reasons (had i read in the previous pages when the topic was brought up), and so its OK. they can still be his fans because they like him, as a whole, regardless of for what reasons. why should we refute them as his fans?
if anyone had understood my previous posts, i had said, and i will now quote myself directly "but of course you have to know something about an artist to determine whether you should like them or not in general. so yea, for those who only likes him for his looks, its ok but try to learn about his musical aspects as well to see whether you should continue liking him for his looks only or not". <- with this said, it shows that im not saying we should be his fans for his looks nor his music only, or him wanting his fans to be his fans for his music more or looks more. who knows? noone. so noone can speak for him or the idea of what makes a 'fan'. so if you like him or hate him for whatever reasons, let it be. you cant control people on what they should or should not be his fans or haters for. lol
so my whole point was responding to those people that its OK. just let them be his fans for whatever reasons, if they all like him, then thats ok. respect my opinion, like how i respect yours. ok. its freedom of speech and freedom of thought. no comments needed. lol ^high fiveee

no.. not that i know f.. i meant coloured tatoos in general... not on Miyavi!!!

oh gosh my geesh, gome, I thought I was so lost for a minute there..

btw, that piercing that you hear about once in a while, the secret one! anyone who knows anything about that? (guessing where it is is also a great way to spend time.. ) drooling factor.. eeh..
