I love everything that's been said. You guys are really coming up with good stuff! Remember, there's no right or wrong when it comes to interpretations. It's all about what you believe =)

It'd be cool if Miyavi came out w/ a poetry book. It'd definately sell. We should bring up the idea to him BWAHAHA~

Oh by the way Dani, I've seen about five different versions to the KIMINEGA translation. All the same idea, just differently put. Meh.

Yeah, so that "DEBBIE" shirt Miyavi was wearing in his latest comment... it really says Debbie. It's a shirt from Hot Topic. That doesn't really surprise me though, he was here for four months after all. We all know he had fun in VS, why not Hot Topic too? XD;

That was a really poor translation you had Dani XD!!
I have a feeling that Ren got that translation from Masa Karasu. There was another translation I had found a while ago that I still love better... <3 Just the way things are worded, I enjoy it more.
That's why I hate translations really. They all get the same message across, but things like syntax and diction get lost. It's no longer Miyavi's (or any other author's) originality, it's the translator's originality.

Okay, so here's another twist. Now that we have an idea of KIMINEGA's meaning, what about it's PV? Having it during the night time makes sense with the "star" thing and all, BUT THE ANIMAL MASKS?! Why??? That just makes no sense to me XD;;

See...I made this rule not to intepret Japanese music videos because that causes headaces. KIMINEGA is no different, I got the stars...but the animal heads made me go what. Maybe they are there so the song can come off like a story. You know like how children stories uses animals for story interpretion. I dunno...I'm shutting up.

Yeah I was wondering if it was suppose to be some type of child story too. I was also curious if it's suppose to be portraying that... he's in a dream-like state? Or.. something? I don't know. I don't analyze videos. Tis not me forte~ XD!!

... I did notice them . And the masks in that video... ; I'm thinking it was random Miyavi crack?

I have a picture with Meevs and the band in animal masks where they show them clearly. It's supposed to be 'somewhere' in my Miyavi pics folder...

D: But I will 'try' to look for it!

Hmmm.. i thought we dun have to be too rationale interpreting miyavi's lyrics since we can feel his emotions from his voice...

Every song he sang is so honest and arty...

Just my two cents' worth...
 
Hy dears, I'm just back in France and totally exaust, no sleep since 24 hours, so I'll not read, sorry;
I didn't seen Miyavi in Japan, but I bought all his Cd's and with one there is a great poster!!!!!
And I bought many mag with photots of Miyavi, they're great, amazing..........
I'll write all my trip in japan on my site I think, it will be easier. And I'll scan the pics!!!!! not all I think, there is soooooo many, but a lot!!!!
 
I dont really understand the animals part, maybe its cause they were kids when they made all these plans?

random animals may make it abit dream like too yer?

I think the reason that theres and old man in like the same setting as miyavi, wearing the same clothes kind of shows that hes looking up at the sky for them
like he always will
cause they will always be a part of him and he will always think of them kind of thing?

The "adult" entry Miyavi wrote is about the "Coming of Age" ceremony the Japanese have around New Years~ It's weird to think I'm not of age over in Japan ><~
Their legal age in Japan is 20 =\~

The problem w/ emotions in a voice... they can betray the real message~ He could be singing about a yellow balloon flying off into the sky (haha DBSK reference XD, and be devastated about it~ So he'd sing in devastation, which would convey a different interpretation~ You should always analyze lyrics, no matter how much emotion is put into a song~

I completely forgot to mention the old man in the KIMINEGA video!~ I was wondering if it's suppose to be him like... 70 years from now (KIK!~) and that even in his old age, he'll still be wishing on that star?~

The legal drinking age in Japan is 20~ The legal EVERYTHING over there is 20! XD~

Actually, the language barrier doesn't make a difference for me~ Music is said to be the "Universal language" and I wholeheartedly agree~ You don't need to know the words of the song to understand the emotion~ My point is, the emotion can be different from the message~ Hence analyzing lyrics~
It's all very simple really~

An issue with Miyavi though... His older songs really don't have much "emotion" to them~ Galyuu and Gagaku are just so strange XD;~
I mean seriously now... I would love for you to tell me the meaning to Tariraritarara just by listening to the "emotion" in his voice KIK~

The first thing I did was hook up my computer and watch that sad w-inds video *le sigh* I don't have internet yet in my room, so I'm using the computer lab at the library on campus.~
Anyway, I personally like the animals in kiminega... I found the whole thing very creative... and the old man makes me think of jesus =D For some reason when I first saw that video it reminded me of Smashing Pumpkins "Tonight, Tonight" video~

It's true, that guy in Kiminega kinda looks like Jesus! =O

But I so said "OMG JESUS" in the Itoshii Hito PV xP Because HE FLOATS! And the BABY! ZOMGWTF KURAKU!
