I want April too!!
Keio University =) and yeah LINE group and reunion is on![/QUOTE
sure
Glad to hear the good news from all of you guys!!:
Congratulations to all you got positive responses from their professors/universities.
As for me, I got no news yet from my side. I might e-mail my professor from my first choice (Todai).
I'm also set to arrive by April so i'm up for the meet up when we get to Japan. Cheers!
Congrats.
My date is also on April
For sure, I do not have friends in Japan, I believe we can still in contact, supporting each other as we already have been doing through the group forum. We must have a family picture.
I am really happy for you guys...I hope everyone get the good news, very soon.
Congrats.

Got a reply from my prof. But, he didn't clearly say about the selection. But he sent some E-books to read. More confusion now!!
Sorry for the above post, I am new to the site and am not used to the layout/controls so I posted that accidentally.
I have been recommended by the Embassy in London, and am now in the process of applying for my LOAs. Is anyone else here applying from the UK?
I was wondering if it is 100% necessary to directly contact professors at our chosen universities when applying for LOAs. The three unis I chose all directed me to the international or admissions offices, and didn't mention contacting professors directly (Todai/Waseda/Keio). Should I have sent emails out to professors informing them that I intend to list them as desired supervisors?
Also, does anyone know the general timeline of MEXT (for Master's students). How long are we classed as 'research students' before we can enroll on Master's courses? And does the language training come before or during the 'research' term?
Sorry for all the questions. I am sure you all understand how confusing this process can be. Congratulations to everyone who has been accepted, and good luck with the rest of the process. I hope to see you all in Japan!
Congrats!! :emoji_grinning:hello hello
My supervisor at Kyoto just told me that I passed the final screening! Not sure what happens now...
Have just joined the whatsapp group
PS everyone's going to pass the final screening (I think)
Ya, my prof sent me reading materials too. However can't wait for the news from embassy :emoji_grinning:
Which department have you chosen?
You're in, bud. Congrats!hello hello

Hey good morning from me.
If everyone agree I was thinking to create a group in WhatsApp/Line which one will be most comfortable to all.
Please give your opinion.
Btw everyone who applied through embassy is going to Japan in April as far I know.
You're in, bud. Congrats!
I think the profs. know that you can choice 3 universities but just end up with only one, and they can understand this situation. But you should wait until having the final result of your assigned university from embassy (around next January). Don't say anything now because currently nothing is 100% sure.Hey everyone, I was wondering if you guys could give me a bit of advice.
So I mentioned a few weeks ago that I got a unofficial notification from my prospective prof. that I got accepted at their university. Earlier this week, a different prof. emailed me essentially saying that I didn't get accepted at another university.
Is it normal to explain to the other prof. that I'm going to a different choice university than theirs? I don't want to offend this prof by saying I chose someone else's lab over theirs. Or is it even too early to say for sure?
I feel bad, after taking the time to talk with them about potential projects and such, only to end up going to a different place. I feel like I owe them for their support... Am I just over thinking things?
Sorry for the venting. I really should be excited right now, but I just can't shake off the feeling that I'm backstabbing the other prof. right now...
Thanks :emoji_sweat:
