Meaning of ウ口ウ口. Usage of を particle

Hello,
If possible please kindly help me with translation for the sentence below:
どこかなつかしい 自然を 舞台に、
人が 夫女が 獣が 鳥が 鬼が
ウ口ウ口、生き生きと 行きかう、
もう一つ の 世界が 待っています。
I could translate that sentence as:
Somewhere is another world in which
peoples, husbands and wives, animals, birds, devils,
vividly came and go - is waiting for the desired nature.
But I am not sure what ウ口ウ口 could really mean.

Another difficulty is を particle. I was thinking if 自然 is a direct object so it more likely
an active agent for the transitive verb 待つ. But I am really not sure.

Yeah, ウロウロ is correct. It's the katakana "ro". In this case, ウロウロ is an adverb meaning "with no specific aim" and modifies 行きかう.

You can think 自然を舞台に as 自然を舞台にして, thus, 自然を is the object of 舞台にする and not of 待つ.

どこか is used as an adverb here, meaning "somehow".

Set in a somehow nostalgic nature, another world, where peoples, husbands and wives, animals, birds, and devils come and go aimlessly or vividly, waits (for readers).

nostalgic is a great word to use here, I have totally missed that meaning.


I have never thought that して could be omitted. Before, you kindly have showed omission of で in 簡易平明, maybe this case is somewhat similar. I was thinking, that Kanji is an another way to write words, but seems it is much more complicated than I could imagine.

If possible, kindly, may I ask about meaning of 舞台にする, could it also mean "to make a stage", whereas, "Set in ..." is much more polished translation.

Placeを舞台に（する/して） is usuall used in the context of "to act as if the place were a stage" or "set in".
