Hello,

If possible, please, kindly help me to translate following sentence:

私もほら 焦ってるわけじゃないしさ

I could understand it as "I am (also) not in a hurry".
But, unfortunately, I am not sure in 「ほら 」 and 「しさ」 meanings.
If I omit it, would it change the overall meaning

Thank you very much

ほら is used when you're trying to draw someone's attention. So they're saying, "look, it's not like I'm rushing things here either, you know."

し means "and" and can express a reason, like から, and さ is a sentence-final particle that I can only think to describe as light affirmation right now. It's kind of similar to よ. Toritoribe will probably have a better explanation of it for you. 😌

Hello Glennさん、

Thank you so much for your kind explanation. It perfectly suits the story.
:sorry:

There's no need for additional explanations!🙂

If I omit it, would it change the overall meaning
No, but it can be said that the essence of literature might be on these details.;-)

The thread reminded me of this song:

Sorry for the digression... :p

Really? I should practice this one for my next karaoke meet with buddies.
Thanks! 👍
