can you add -masu, -masen, -mashita and masendeshita to all forms of verbs?

yomu -> yomi -> yomimasen?
taberu -> tabe -> tabemasen?

そか?

😌

oh yeah i forgot します and きます

As far as I know all verbs have a stem, and that means that you can add masu. Even though im a mere beginner, I think im right here.

Thanks i was pretty certain that was correct
I just wanted to verify.

So,
I find 晦ます in the dictionary
If i want to add masu to it, it would be
晦まします

そか
どうもありがとうございます

どうもありがとうございます would be a bit much, im only 17 yet, and hold no social status lol

It's just an expression of gratitude and politeness. In this case age doesn't really mean respect. More of level of knowledge I would think.

It's something I had never thought about, but as far as I know, any verb can get masu attached to it.

Masu is one of ways of conjugating japanese verbs, just like present continuous in english.

Very obscure, but yes, it would conjugate as 晦まします if you were to use it. Verbs like 覚ます->覚まします are the same.

what type of verb would that be, irregular?

so i could say

kuramasu
or
kuramashimasu

hmm...
