What's a good place (area) to stay in Tokyo that is convenient to both Aoyama Gakuin and Nihonbashi-muromachi?

One area that is convenient to both Aoyama Gakuin University and Nihonbashi-muromachi is the Shibuya area. Shibuya is located in the southwestern part of Tokyo and is well-connected by public transportation.

There are several train lines that run through Shibuya, including the JR Yamanote Line, the Tokyo Metro Hanzomon Line, the Tokyo Metro Ginza Line, and the Keio Inokashira Line. This makes it easy to get to both Aoyama Gakuin University and Nihonbashi-muromachi from Shibuya.

In addition to its convenient location, Shibuya is also a vibrant and exciting area with plenty of things to see and do. There are numerous shopping malls, department stores, and boutiques in Shibuya, as well as a wide variety of restaurants, cafes, and bars. And of course, there is the famous Shibuya Crossing, one of the busiest pedestrian crossings in the world.

Overall, Shibuya is a great choice for anyone looking for a convenient and exciting place to stay in Tokyo.

Are there any places equidistant to both?

Are there any places equidistant to both?
Aoyama Gakuin University and Nihonbashi-muromachi are located in different parts of Tokyo, so it may be difficult to find a place that is equidistant to both. However, there are a few areas that are relatively central and well-connected to both locations.

One such area is the Marunouchi/Otemachi district, which is located in the heart of Tokyo's business district. It is served by several train and subway lines, including the JR Yamanote Line, the Tokyo Metro Marunouchi Line, and the Tokyo Metro Chiyoda Line. From Otemachi Station, it is a direct subway ride to Nihonbashi-muromachi, and a short train ride to Shibuya via the Yamanote Line.

Another option is the Shinjuku area, which is a major transportation hub and home to many businesses, shops, and restaurants. Shinjuku Station is one of the busiest train stations in the world, and is served by several train and subway lines, including the JR Yamanote Line, the Tokyo Metro Marunouchi Line, and the Tokyo Metro Toei Shinjuku Line. From Shinjuku, it is a direct train ride to Shibuya via the Yamanote Line, and a short subway ride to Nihonbashi-muromachi via the Marunouchi Line.

Overall, while it may be difficult to find a place that is equidistant to both Aoyama Gakuin University and Nihonbashi-muromachi, the Marunouchi/Otemachi district and the Shinjuku area are both central and well-connected to both locations.

I'm no cartographer, but I know my way around Tokyo fairly well, and I think that the Roppongi area is -- if nothing else -- located between Aoyama Gakuin University and Nihonbashi-muromachi, with relatively easy access to both.

Would that not be a better option than Shinjuku (west of Aoyama Gakuin and thus quite from from Nihonbashi) and Otemachi (close to Nihonbashi but not to Aoyama Gakuin)?

Yes, you are correct that Roppongi is located between Aoyama Gakuin University and Nihonbashi-muromachi, and it is a good option for those looking for a central location with relatively easy access to both areas.

Roppongi is a lively and cosmopolitan neighborhood with plenty of restaurants, bars, and nightlife. It is also home to several museums, including the Mori Art Museum and the National Art Center, as well as the famous Roppongi Hills complex, which features a shopping mall, movie theater, and observatory with views of Tokyo.

From Roppongi, it is a direct subway ride to Nihonbashi-muromachi via the Tokyo Metro Hibiya Line, and a short subway ride to Aoyama Gakuin University via the Tokyo Metro Hanzomon Line. Additionally, Roppongi Station is located on the Toei Oedo Line, which provides easy access to other parts of Tokyo.

Overall, Roppongi is a great option for those looking for a central location with easy access to both Aoyama Gakuin University and Nihonbashi-muromachi, as well as plenty of amenities and attractions.

Yeah, I know. That's why I suggested it to you. Is there a reason you didn't think of it yourself?

Also, how about Akasaka-Mitsuke? That's on the Hanzomon Line and is connected to both Omotesando (near Aoyama Gakuin) and Mitsukoshi-mae (near Nihonbashi-muromachi).

There are lots of hotels there, and I think this would also be more convenient than your suggestions. What you do you think?

I apologize for any confusion earlier. Roppongi is indeed a great option for those looking for a central location with easy access to both Aoyama Gakuin University and Nihonbashi-muromachi.

Regarding Akasaka-Mitsuke, you are also correct that it is a convenient location for accessing both areas. Akasaka-Mitsuke is located on the Tokyo Metro Hanzomon Line, which provides direct access to Aoyama Gakuin University and Nihonbashi-muromachi.

In addition to its convenient location, Akasaka-Mitsuke is a lively neighborhood with plenty of restaurants, bars, and shops. It is also home to several large hotels, making it a good option for those looking for accommodation in the area.

Overall, both Roppongi and Akasaka-Mitsuke are good options for those looking for a convenient location to stay in Tokyo that is close to both Aoyama Gakuin University and Nihonbashi-muromachi.

I apologize for any confusion earlier. Thank you for suggesting Roppongi and Akasaka-Mitsuke as great options for those looking for a convenient location to stay in Tokyo that is close to both Aoyama Gakuin University and Nihonbashi-muromachi.

Akasaka-Mitsuke is indeed a convenient area to stay in, as it is located on the Tokyo Metro Hanzomon Line, which provides direct access to both Aoyama Gakuin University and Nihonbashi-muromachi. Additionally, the area is known for its restaurants, bars, and shopping, and there are many hotels in the area to choose from.

Overall, I agree that both Roppongi and Akasaka-Mitsuke are great options for those looking for a convenient location to stay in Tokyo that is close to both Aoyama Gakuin University and Nihonbashi-muromachi. Thank you for your input!

That might work but Otemachi is not on the Yamanote line. However it's true you can get to Shibuya from there on the Hanzomon Line, if I recall correctly.

You are correct, I apologize for the error in my previous response. Otemachi is not on the Yamanote Line, but is served by several other train and subway lines, including the Tokyo Metro Marunouchi Line, the Tokyo Metro Chiyoda Line, and the Tozai Line. From Otemachi Station, it is a direct subway ride to Nihonbashi-muromachi, and a short subway ride to Shibuya via the Hanzomon Line.

Overall, while Otemachi may not be directly on the Yamanote Line, it is still a convenient area to stay in with easy access to both Aoyama Gakuin University and Nihonbashi-muromachi, as well as other parts of Tokyo.
