Live Streaming Radio?

I've searched the web...
I've searched here...
I've not found what I want so I've now /joined/ here.
All I want is quite simple (I thought): live streaming internal Japanese radio. You know, the stuff people actually listen to in Japan. Not specially formatted stuff for foreigners (like NHK's material, as far as I can deduce); or American based stations and what have you.
I've navigated NHK's Japanese web site but it would take months to follow all the links (the ENGLISH link just dumps you on NHK's external services, which are not what I want) and, anyway, promising looking links all seem to end in a log-in screen? Do you have to pay NHK for live internet radio streaming in Japan?
This question seems to appear on a regular basis so I guess what I want does not exist? But that seems very odd to me. Surely at least some Japanese radios stations stream their output as is (like the BBC, and practically all UK stations, do)... ?
Sorry if this is a pain reading yet another request about this topic but I can't find any answers.

Just a thought............

if there are not any internet sites, you can buy a small , very cheap, short wave radio that will receive Japanese radio. I live in the US in Maine and there are always 2 or 3 Japanese channels that come in at night here.

Thanks, but they are just the sort of thing I don't want because they are external services (I expect, could only find RCI [China] when I just looked) aimed at foreigners. I want internal programming aimed at ordinary Japanese.

I don't think there's live streaming available for listening outside Japan, at least by the major media, after the recent upsurge in policing copyright and IP violations.

Although the variety is limited, there are downloadable podcasts from private media such as TBS (Tokyo Broadcasting System):
TBSラジオ FM90.5 + AM954~何かが始まる音がする~

Looks like it.

What about URLs anyway? It might be fun trying to get round the restrictions: TOR would be a reasonable starting point (I doubt that any 'restrictions' are that difficult to defeat in reality).

Podcasts are fine; but not what I want.

It's a pity, really.
