I started out learning japanese not knowing where to start... so now i have came to the point where i have no idea what to do. And i want to start over. The best way to do that under the circumstances i am in is to get a lesson plan.

I want to know how some of you guys started out learning japanese and progressed through it. Did you start out with the hirigana alphabet and learned it by using flash cards or something? Also if you have any lesson plans you could type out as a chart in one of the replies then that would be really nice. Just tell us where we should start and how to learn that particular section and then tell us the next steps. ^^

I think that this would help out alot of newcomers to japanese as well.

Arigatou Gozaimasu!!!!

If you want to learn the writing, I learned hiragana first. It's really easy. I just did "a,i,e,o,u" at first and then "ka,ke,ki,ko,ku" etc. It's easy as long as you remember to have fun as you do it.
For the language itself, I haven't got that far myself but...Everyone always starts with things like, " My name is..." and " How are you," and I gues after that you start the grammer. Just don't rush everything and like every language, it cam be hard work.

hey hanza
if you want to learn fast i suggest you buy this book

Remembering the kana you can find it on amazon or probably other book sites.

i got that book just over a week ago and now know all hiragana and katakana symbols. its an excellent book to learn from.
it has 6 lessons each for hiragana and katakana and takes about 30mins to get through each.
