I successfully taught myself Hiragana thanks to this image:

Relating the characters to images that resemble them but also have the sound within them was very helpful.

I was wondering if anyone had a image like this one for Katakana? Or even a way they got themselves to remember the characters.

Any help or suggestions welcome Thank you all.

There are some similar images for katakana here:
Kana Lesson: Katakana

I think reading/writing kana in words, not just as individuals, helps. e.g. I used to confuse ユ and ヨ a lot until I learnt the word ヨーガ (yoga) to help me remember which was which. The place you live, and quite a few food and hobby-related words will be written in katakana so there are plenty of useful beginner words you can pick up.

Nekojita, thank you very much for the link! I'll keep in mind using words to remember the characters. I think I'll try find some good ones to use now
