I've been writing about the live/party but I don't think I should post what I've written as it is. I'll have to go back to it tomorrow and sort it out.
Kamijo raised the possibility of doing solo stuff during one of the MCs. They still don't know what's up with Mayu, and can't do anything with Lareine in the meantime. (The bright side is that apparently they still consider him a valued and important member of the band, even though they've been left in the lurch.) So rather than do nothing while they wait for Mayu and to find a drummer, it seems Kamijo might do some solo stuff. I'm not sure how definite this is. I got the feeling that if Mayu comes back and is ready to start band activities, they'd like to do Lareine stuff; but that if he doesn't show up soon, Kamijo is just going to start working by himself. He seems
really impatient to be playing live and putting out new releases.
Some of my friends were very upset to hear this, but I was glad. After everything, I can't believe that Lareine will stop, or that Mayu won't come back eventually... but it could take a long time before Lareine is ready to go, and meanwhile I don't want to do without my Kamijo fix. It sucked in 2001 when there were no releases between "Scream" and New Sodmy's "White Lie," and in the winter of 2002~2003 when there were no concerts between Halloween Party and Saikai no Hana.
pastelflower: They still haven't said how long it's been since Mayu stopped contacting them. I don't think Mayu not going to Fanime is relevant, though. Maybe other bands always send their vocalist and lead guitarist, but their guitarists aren't Mayu... If only Kazumi was still in Lareine, he would have been perfect as a 2nd band representative. Mayu always seems really sweet, but he's so quiet and shy that I don't think he would do well in a foreign country without the entire band for support.
