Kuchisake-Onna

Since a short time I have a deep interest in Kuchisake-Onna. Does she still 'appear' in Japan, or is the myth somewhat over since the '70's? Can anyone tell me what exactly happened to the kidnapped children/people who were supposedly taken by her? Thanks in advace!

Actually, she frightened many Japanese kids badly, especially in 70's,
But all of her story was just an urban legend.

There were so many kinds of rumors/reports of sightings, however,
They were always secondhand information.
Nobody/Few said, "I saw her with my own eyes."

People remember her well because her story had such a strong impact.
So she still sometimes appears in comics/books/TV dramas/movies, etc.

Can you sleep in peace now?
Or disappointed to know she doesn't exist?

But the Jersey Devil... he's real. I saw him with my own eyes, in the Pine Barrens, when I was 12. I saw him while I was taking a leak behind a tree.
