The word you're referring to is ちょうだい. It works kind of like ください. It basically means "please do (something) for me".

早く音楽を掛けてちょうだい？(Could you please play some music for me quickly?)

yes, choudai is a childish way to ask for something; it could be used for a noun or verb, depending on what you're asking for. I almost equate it to "gimme" more than really "asking" for something

last year i participated in bon odori dance, i heard the sensei said the word during the dance, is there any meaning or just for fun while dancing to the rhythm/song?

sanka is fine for participate, but the particle would be "ni." also, it seems to me that when you use おどりをして先生は... it makes it sound like you mean that while just the teacher was doing the dance he chanted, as opposed to you or the whole group. using odotteru aida ni implies yourself dancing while the teacher chanted. And it seems that what he said was not a word, so I'm guessing it was your second guess of keeping the song's rhythm. There are chants that include words and phrases for bon odori, however.

& when she said yoyasanosanosa ha! following the movements of the dance everybody shouted 2gether & it was really fun.

「デジカメ」は「デジタル・カメラ（digital camera)」の略（りゃく、abbreviation)です。

「寝坊（ねぼう）しました」は英語で「I overslept」という意味（いみ）があります。

「I will try to remember」は日本語で．．．「覚えることを頑張る（がんばる）」ですよ。たとえば：
『「doinkies」はカタカナで「ドインキーズ」と綴る（つづる）と覚えることを頑張ります。』そういう言葉です。
