hello everybody im looking for people who are living in Kobe, or have been in kobe...

what is your opinion about this city?

im planning to make a website about kobe, and i was wondering if anybody would like to write some nice /bad things about kobe ( serieus )

well.. im waiting for yah guys....

Konnichiwa dutch baka-san!

I think Kobe is port city, hilly, Chinatown, shopping town, Yakuza, and useless airport city.

NANGI

I think this would be fine in the Practical section. ;-)

Don't they have KOBE BEEF there? ><

You can write about how they can charge 300 dollars for a pound of extremely fatty cow meat

Actually... it tastes pretty good, but it is DAMN expensive.

Hmm, I should probably mention that I don't live too far away from a place here in the States where they actually raise Wagyu cattle for export. They are raised here to the correct specifications and then shipped to Kobe. Once there, they are slaughtered and ta-da : Kobe Beef.

Funny eh?

If the cow isn't killed in Kobe, its just Waygu beef.

Goedemiddag. dutch baka-san,

Please, take a look at this webpage. There are some nice pics of Kobe.

I like the decent atomosphere of Kobe.
And you can easily get access to Osaka or Kyoto.

I visited there 5years after the Great Hanshin Earthquake.
Reconstruction had been almost finished at that time, but I heard many people still can't heal their
traumas.
Many people lost their familiy members, friends, or relatives in that tragedic earthquake.
So, please be considerate when you ask them about the Earthquake.

I hope you'll have a good time in Kobe.

Goeden dag.

Kobe? One of the safest cities I've ever lived in. You can walk the streets at 2 in the morning without having to worry about being mugged or anything. I've never actually eaten Kobe beef... seems like a waste of money, okonomiaki is better...

The city is definitly much smaller than Osaka, which is easily accessable by train. The city is quite hilly the higer up North you get, near the winery, though personally, the best places for shopping, having fun, etc are near the sea, where theres Chinatown in sannomiya or Harborland in kobe, Kobe.

There is a lot of green, since a large part of Kobe has wilderness and isnt completely concrete, away from the city. There isn't evidence left from the earthquake except for the memorial down in meriken park. There is also a gaijin community in Shioya.

Oh, and I almost forgot about the Akashi-ohashi, though thats near the border of Akashi and Kobe, but the bridge does look great at night.

"for people who can not read japanese they make the most BAsis design there is...."
most american websites have no japanese design at all? only english?
thanks for saying thanks!

I've lived in Kobe for over five years so I might be able to answer any questions. Have you tried the KTO/Japanfile website in English? it is for all of Kansai but there is a lot on Kobe. Also have you heard of the Rikai website? Put in the Japanese website's url on the Rikai website and then when you go to the Japanese language website and you drag your cursor over the Kanji it will give you the reading in kana and English.

arigato harvey , there some nice pictures,,, im getting the feeling!!!

thanks for the website's mangaman (btw for translation i use, worldlingo... its not so bad...)

arigato for your efort you people
