Ken Tanaka -- real or not?

Here is a guy (of Caucasian parentage) who claims to have been adopted by a Japanese couple and grew up in Shimane, Japan.

Pretty good accent until about a minute into it, where it starts to break down a little.

I never knew that it was popular for people to adopt white people back in the '70's.

Exactly how many Linda and John(!?!) Smiths are there in LA? Jeez, talk about taking a long shot if he is genuine.

Yup! He starts out with a really strong accent but it just gets weaker and weaker as he goes along. A few times he really slips and pronounces a perfect American "a".

I wonder why he did this video? Just for laughs probably. I've never heard of Japanese couple adopting Japanese babies, let alone white or black or any other kind of babies.
