I am surprised that I can't find a thread for this or maybe I'm not searching hard enough.:?
Anyway, I've been really into Japanese drama lately, especially Risou no Musuko and Saikou no jinsei no owarikata.
Anyone watches those two dramas?

Also, are there any other dramas that should be recommended?

If there is already a somewhat similar thread, I am really sorry. :sorry:

The best one in this season is NO DOUBT "Strawberry Night". There aren't any Johnny's in this drama, though.

Shows like "Risou no Musuko" are a very large part of why I almost never watch television. That thing isn't a "drama"; it is beyond-farcical live-action cartoon. A couple or three weeks ago I just happened to find myself in the living room when the thing came on (the episode where his mother thought he must be gay) and very uncharacteristically sat there and actually watched the entire thing. It had all the standard earmarks of "dorama": bad writing; bad lighting; bad acting; and bad directing, with the addition of a storyline that goes so far beyond the absurd that I don't think there is a word strong enough to describe it. A complete teleturd.

So I sat there watching the show, and giving a running commentary on how incredibly awful it was, and my wife asked me if I found it so intolerable then why was I watching it.

Because the mother is a MILF hottie, that's why. (Plus it is very hard to drag yourself out of a warm kotatsu on a miserably cold day).

Hahaha! Nice one, Mike Cash.

Milf hypnosis will do that. It happens once in a while (I know from experience).

I've definitely done that before. I've been watching a bad show on Japanese TV, and I know it's bad, but can't turn the channel for some strange reason. Part of it is because I want to hear as much Japanese as my little ears will hold.

I would watch Ryomaden from time to time. Not so much anymore, but I used to.

I will check it out ^^ Thank you!

Hahaha! I agree with the part where the storyline is absurd. I watched it to support the actors and to laugh, if there's any funny scenes. However, I kind of like Saikou no jinsei no owarikata. It sort of change my point of view towards funerals and of course, towards family members and sometimes, I do learn something from it ^^

I understand how you feel too. When I watch a bad show here in my country, I will not want to turn it off. However, it's because the remote control is very far away. ><

I think there have only ever been two Japanese dramas that I have actually watched all the way through, and Strawberry Night looks like it will be my 3rd. The rest are garbage, IMO.

I'm totally not up to date.
Any recommendation for me?
The last dramas I watched were "Nankyoku Tairiku" and "Soredemo ikiteyuku".

I miss the time when I watched the majority of all dramas per season, but I'm just too busy recently.
